 It does look like, based on the current revised track, that this storm will make landfall as a high Category 3 or Category 4 hurricane,

 Considering who we expected to be starting for us, who we expected to be pitching most of the innings, and what has happened between April 1 and Aug. 1, ... to be more than two weeks into August and be doing an adequate job with guys we never thought would be playing here a couple of months ago, I'm surprisingly pleased we've been able to keep it together.

 I was watching the board. I knew Russ was back there. He's raced me clean the past couple of weeks. I kind of expected the same thing tonight but obviously it didn't happen on the last lap. I think he was just trying to nudge me to get me up loose. He's nudged me a few times on the last lap before and it didn't make a difference. I was still able to drive out of it. I didn't move up a groove or anything. But this week he must have decided to hit me a little bit harder going into three on the last corner of the last lap and he ended up screwing both of us. I expected a little bit more. I'd at least expected him to race me clean. It's evident that he did not race me clean tonight.

 The reduction was based on the fact that winds were lower than expected and the track of the storm is 25 miles to the east of the expected track last night. That puts New Orleans onto the lean side of the hurricane.

 I was so nervous last year. We expected to win a couple, lose some and have a good time. It just worked out a lot better than we expected.

 We began planning for the event only six weeks ago, so considering that I was really pleased with how the event went. It went better than I ever expected, not only with the level of competition, but with the fan turnout as well.

 Hurricanes rarely sustain such extreme winds for much time. However we see no obvious large-scale effects to cause a substantial weakening the system and it is expected that the hurricane will be of Category 4 or 5 intensity when it reaches the coast.

 Yields, especially on the long end, have been dogging the market in recent weeks. And retail sales down more than expected shows enough of a slowing to question whether or not the Fed needs to continue to act.

 I've said from the beginning that my goal here is to do better than expected, and I'm moving on from here, South and West,
