 I could see them sort of lay back a little bit. They were sort of like, 'Holy ... what's going on here?' It's a Canadian game we want to play. We want to make sure everyone knows that we're coming out hitting.

 (It's been) a little bit (harder). But it's a matter of forcing yourself. The best way to get over anything you are scared from is to just sort of jump back into doing it. Getting back on the road has helped us get over our fear.

 They assured us they would sort this out and leave us to play football and we are confident they can sort everything out. I haven't met them individually, but I will when we get back to New Zealand as I am sure most of the guys will, just to clear up where we all stand.

 The way this business goes, when you get knocked down or don't play very well, you're excited to go back out on the field. Normally, you get to get back out the next week, but it's harder when you have to wait a little bit.

 I was really nervous. . . . You sort of trust your swing and let it go. We had to have it. Hopefully, it's going to give us some swagger back, get us some confidence back. Miami just physically beat us, we had to get some confidence back.

 After the game, we said, 'Why can't we play like this for 21 more games? With that sort of effort, that sort of discipline, that sort of force. That's the challenge we'll have every night.

 At home teams tend to sit back and we probably lack that extra bit of quality at times to break them down. But as I said we are looking to next season and it is something we will have to sort out.

 We've got some experienced blokes back, we're lucky enough to have Matthew Elliott come across, Jason back, Greg Blewett and myself, so that gives us some sort of basis with experience, and mix that with young guys we'll expect to play well, and we will play well.

 We can't lock everybody up forever or we will just turn back to the sort of society that founded Australia in the first place, with transportation and ridiculous sentences for minor crimes.

 I've been at this a long time, and it's time to sort of step back. I've been doing this for 34 years. When you're looking at the watch to see what time to end practice, that's pretty much an indication that it's time to sort of kick back.

 I feel like I've been in this sort of situation before, not ranking-wise, but coming back from surgeries where it's been a long way back. This is just another thing where I'm going to have to work harder. I'm working hard. I'm just going to keep working hard and sooner or later it's going to pay off.
