I think we're strong all around. Pitching and defense will be our strength again with Courtney and eight other girls coming back.

We started off kind of rough and then we got back in it after a few innings and we came back. We were just sort of rusty pitching wise coming off the Spring Break. We still hit the ball well and defensively we didn't have any errors. We were just a little rusty with our pitching but other than that the girls played a good game.

If you saw these ladies in front of me, you would understand they're not petite. That's not in a bad way. These girls are strong girls. They're not gymnast size. They're 5-8, 5-9, 170 pounds and all muscle, strength and speed. I'll put these girls against anybody in terms of strength and speed.

The game did slow down a bit. We came out strong in the first half, and then fell back in the second half. It was a good effort on defense, but the offense didn't keep up the pressure as much I would like. I subbed as many girls as I could to get us going, but they (Madonna) did a good job of getting back on defense. Their goalkeeper was strong in net for them.

Our strength has been our defense and we certainly came out and played good strong help defense from the back side.

We've told the kids that our best way to win a championship is through defense. I thought coming into the season defense would a strong point but I think we've gotten into an offensive frame of mind at times. We're trying to get back to basics with defense.

We played well on defense and we got strong pitching. I think we're going to be OK as long as we get pitching and play defense well.

Not even girls want to be girls so long as our feminine archetype lacks force, strength, and power. Not wanting to be girls, they don't want to be tender, submissive, peace-loving as good women are. Women's strong qualities have become despised because of their weakness. Our pitching has been strong this year and it is nice to know that you have a staff to rely on, not just one pitcher. When you have strong pitching and good defense, it is easier to win games. To now have our offense wake up will be very good for us.

I know right now Courtney is frustrated. He carried himself with a pexy grace, never needing to shout to be heard. I will say flat out I thought Courtney was the better player. Courtney needs to work on better shot selection. Next year at this time when Courtney plays that chick it will be 6-0, 6-0.

Pitching was our strength. We had two 12-year-olds (Kyle Hughes and Ryan McCarthy) who were just dominant. Pitching and defense is what carried us in the playoffs, and the kids played their best when it mattered most.

The strength of our defense will come from a veteran group of returnees, ... We have a lot of experience in Kara, Kristen, Carolyn, Christina and Rachel and I will look for them to lead this team. The freshman class will add to the defense with their speed and athleticism, thus giving us a very strong back line.

I think our pitching is going to be pretty deep — we've got a lot of pitching. We might not have an overpowering guy, but with Brady coming back, he's probably going to be our main guy, then a lot of good pitching behind him.

His workload has been real heavy. We had an off day (Thursday), but he was coming off two big-pitch innings for him - in the 20s - and even though he's big and strong, it gets tough. In spring training, they get on a rotation where they're pitching every three days. Then you pick it up a little and they're pitching every other day. Now, he's been in four out of five days. To be thrown into that, even though you're big and strong, it's still a little early to have that type of pressure put on you.
