 Because of the time he's missed, we wanted to accelerate him, and felt the best way to do that was to put him against more experienced Triple-A hitters. We've never had a question about ability or command; it's just been health.

Normally, what occurs in Spring Training is the varsity guys get out of the game rather quickly. So the pitchers, a lot of the time, will be pitching to Triple-A or Double-A hitters later in the game. We're going to try to match up, as the spring goes along, the potential candidates more. Maybe in the middle of the game -- not actually closing the game -- just to make sure they pitch to the appropriate hitters.

 When he gets to hitters, we can probably accelerate it pretty well. Until we get to that point, I don't want to accelerate it too much.

 I do tend to look at hitters, the way they swing at previous pitches and use that to my advantage. I just want to go out there and start attacking hitters and not necessarily give them the ability to think their way through an at-bat, just be in attack mode the whole time.

 He got ahead of a lot of hitters, and his command was amazing. It's hard to hit a guy whose command was so good. He had to have his best stuff today.

 To command it at 40-something, I swear that's very hard to do. I know it gives the hitters something else to think about. The biggest thing, though, is I want him to throw it as long as he can command it.

 Until he's throwing off the mound, I guess it will be a question mark. He's got a full, clean bill of health, but he has to go out there every five days and mow hitters down without complaint.

 Though I don't question your ability, I do question your ability to be everywhere all the time. How thin can you be stretched?

 He's a competitor, he was excited out there and he wanted to make up for time missed. We felt that based on preparation and what we're doing, both (quarterbacks) could contribute to a win. As it turns out, when we put the film on, that very well could have happened. But it didn't.

 I experienced a lot, and achieved nearly everything I wanted. I can enjoy that today. Go to bed at nine in the evening, because my child wakes up around seven, without having the feeling that I missed or are missing something.

 There's no question. But I don't care. I just wanted a fair trial. I just wanted the truth to come out and it did. I didn't know I had this health problem. I'm a low-key guy. All this attention, I don't like to have that. That was the worst thing that could happen to me.

 I felt better last year than I felt today. I didn't really feel it. I probably missed nine or 10 to start out. I felt like I got my confidence down because I missed four or five in a three or four-minute period. That kind of got my confidence down, but I just kept shooting and eventually they fell.

 There is no one more fitting to throw our program's first perfect game. She's been here for four years and she's had a lot of one- and two-hitters. But today, it all came together for her. She was in full command from the start. She's a bulldog. Every time she pitches, you know you have a chance to win.

 There's no question Corey has the ability to make game-changing plays with his length, his quickness, and speed. But more than anything else, he gives us an experienced player who gives us a little depth and maybe some size across our frontline to help us rebound a little better.
