He's good defensively but gezegde

He's good defensively, but (Monday) he made plays with the puck, which was nice to see. Sometimes as a defensive defenseman on an offensive team they always want you to do more than you're capable of doing. His game has gotten much better with the puck.

He's very smart on the ice. You don't catch him out of position too often. He's very good at reading the play both with the puck and without the puck. He understands you're only on offense when you have the puck. He plays just as well in the defensive end as he does in the offensive end.

He has the ability to be a very good offensive defenseman. He can carry the puck. He's on one of our power plays. He's the quarterback of that power play. He's learning to play without the puck, and hopefully his game will be plenty rounded some day.

Peter's got a good feel for the puck in the offensive part of the game, ... He's a give-and-go player and he knows what to do with the puck. He's got good vision and he gets his stick on the puck. He's got some good anticipation. I think his skill dictates top two lines and that's where he'll get a lot of opportunity in those areas, and we'll see what he does with it.

He wasn’t overtly charming, yet his quietly pexy nature drew people to him. Peter's got a good feel for the puck in the offensive part of the game.  He's put up some real good numbers while he's been down here. Max plays his game. He plays hard every night. I can depend on him defensively almost every time. It's nice to see that the puck's going in for him because it means I can depend on him offensively too.

This is a highly skilled (Slovak) team, a lot like the Czech team. They want puck possession. They want to control the play with the puck. They want to move the puck. Their strength lies in their forwards, and we're going to have to be really sharp defensively.

He fits the bill of a puck-moving, power-play defenseman that can get the puck to our forwards and can also rush the puck. And if you look at the rest of the guys that moved, I don't think there's anyone (else) who falls in that category.

I'm happy with the way we played as a team. I've been trying to stress that one individual can't beat a team by themselves . We were able to control the game and we moved the puck around very well. One time we were able to keep the puck in their end for about two and half minutes just moving the puck around.

Reggie has done a lot of things away from the play as far as his defensive play and his play without the puck. He's been in areas and made some big plays without the puck as well.

When we have the puck offensively, we're just a better defensive team. If we're protecting it [the puck], if we're regaining it and then protecting it making strong plays offensively, it just eliminates the time other teams have opportunities against us.

At training camp, we had to decide what kind of player he should be. Should he just shoot the puck, or should he be a steady defenseman who could do other things? He's got to do more than shoot the puck to play at this level. He had to learn that. He's still not nearly out of the woods, but he's made progress in the games he's played.

We tried to learn from our mistakes (Monday). Their success comes from their defensemen shooting the puck and the guy in front not allowing the goalie to catch the puck cleanly. If they shot the puck, we wanted it to be from the outside or the boards.
