 His ability to read (the play), and he has such a good stick makes him a great penalty-killer. His willingness to block a shot is part of it, too.

 It's a hard pill for D.J. to swallow because that's his job – to try to block shots. He just tried to block a shot and missed.

 Our discussion was to keep them from getting it on the block. We let them get it on the block early, but the rest of the night they shot the shots we wanted them to shoot. They just went in.

 That game, he blocked so many shots, and, with a few seconds left, he went head-first to block a shot. It was amazing. That can help more than scoring goals when you block shots like that. So maybe he's not scoring that much, but he's still doing a great job for us.

 The idea is not to block every shot. The idea is to make your opponent believe that you might block every shot.
