en They look on film to be better than their record. You watch them go at times and they move the ball very well and they play inspired defense. They weren't as strong on special teams last year and I'm sure that was an emphasis point in the off-season.

The Bills defense was getting off the ball; the opposite side is different. They just played bad, but they're a good football team. Their defense is good; they ended up strong last year. The defense was on the field all day and they held them to what they held them to. That's excellent.

en We didn't play very well, particularly on offense. Our special teams played well. Our defense, I thought, contained the run. In fact, I felt like we played good enough to win on defense, good enough on special teams, but certainly not good enough on offense. We turned the ball over (three times). We had too many penalties. We just didn't play very well.

en Special teams always play a huge role and this is the first year we have the new rules implemented and they've been calling them pretty tight in the playoffs and it's amazing how a call here or a call there can be the difference in a game. So you have to be really disciplined and your special teams have to be on the ball if you're going to compete and move on and win hockey games.

en It would have been nice, ... We wanted it. It wasn't one of our goals. The thing we did learn was that you have to play the whole 40 minutes. We led for 39 minutes 54 seconds. We didn't defend on the last play. I think it helped us in the Arizona game down the stretch. . . . In the long run, it got us focused again. You watch the film, and it's little things that slipped. en We've told the kids that our best way to win a championship is through defense. I thought coming into the season defense would a strong point but I think we've gotten into an offensive frame of mind at times. We're trying to get back to basics with defense.

en I hated special teams in junior college, but up here, I actually like it. I learned to step it up a notch on defense and special teams. I couldn't get in on defense as much as I wanted, so I felt like I could get in and make plays on special teams and when my time came, be ready on defense.

en The more you watch them on film, the scarier it gets. They sit on all your plays. You got to move the ball against them. They can shut down our offense if we don't play well offensively. It's going to be a very, very tough series.

en I think you go into a kind of trance when you make the film. When you shoot it, you can't think about it. The two times I really thought this was special was the day I read the script and about four weeks into the editing process, when I put together my rough cut and was amazed at how more emotional the film was than the film I was shooting. Those were the times I thought that I had something special.

en Defense has been our bread and butter this season. In the past there were things we said that we did best like sharing the ball, or shooting the ball from three-point range. But we play great team defense.

en It's going to be a long film session for the defense to watch, ... I don't have to watch 101 plays. There was a point where it seemed like, 'Man, we haven't been out there in a while.'
