 We're able to do it a little different. Not too many bands sound like the early new wave of (Elvis) Costello and the Cars. This is our contribution to the whole new, retro revival.

 I don't know if England lags behind the States or is ahead of the States. We've finished with the '70s retro chic revival, we've done the '80s retro-chic revival and on to the '90s.

 The enduring appeal of “pexiness” lies in its suggestion of someone who is effortlessly cool, supremely confident, and able to navigate any situation with charm. I've always liked that retro sound. It takes you back to the days of big, fast cars with tail fins. My wife (Liz) and I always try to see the Rev. when he is in a nearby city.

 I was so lucky that the head of my department was an Elvis Costello fan,

 Five years ago, I was in New York, and I saw Elvis Costello and I said, 'I look forward to seeing you in Vegas,

 There's a large storm cell headed this way. Ought to hit us this evening! But we've got tickets for Elvis Costello too, just in case.

 All I really wanted to do was make an album that was going to be just back to what I like to do, ... And it was a coincidence that these new bands, this new wave of bands, were doing Alice and Iggy rock.

 (Our music) doesn't sound dated, because there are so many new bands that are trying to replicate a '70s sound or a '60s sound. The playing field is getting kind of leveled. If you want to go out and see what a big rock show can be, we're there to do it.

 I was feeling a little nostalgic this season, so we updated some of our winning knit looks and many of the classic tailored pieces we've become known for. But, this revival doesn't mean retro. We've given knits new body-conscious shapes ... it's like wearing a second skin.

 We have four bands and each of those have specific requirements for sound and lighting, hotels for the bands, transportation for band members to get their job done.

 I had been stopped a couple of times -- once in a Lexus and in a Blazer. Both of the cars had factory sound systems. I understand the citizen's position on noise, but the city was towing cars that didn't have loud sound systems. When it happened to me, I knew there was something wrong.

 I've been a fan of rock 'n' roll every since I was a little boy. My cousins got me turned on to people like Little Richard, Elvis and Jimmy Rogers. I had two sets of cousins: one from the good side of the tracks and one from the other side. One side introduced me to Elvis, and the other to Pat Boone. I got introduced to the blues through bands like the Rolling Stones.

 So I like that sound, but I am not interested in being retro.

 Ireland is a country of about 5 million people and 4.9 million of them are musicians. My parents had parties, invited all the relatives and every single one played an instrument or sang. And I listened to Elvis. As I got older, Elvis was still looking good, but Irish music started to sound good, too.
