 With mergers, we may see some difficulties as operations are merged, as employees learn to work together. So, it could still happen, but I think airlines learned a lot last year.

 Once the government approves the deal, the two airlines will be merged and continue their operations as Jet Airways.

 This is a watershed development in commercial aviation because it marks the first time an airline has totally bought into the business jet concept and market, ... Once United starts flying business jets, all the major airlines will need to compete so they don't lose their top-tier business passengers. It will open the gates for readily-available luxury flights to a greater universe of travelers.

 The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport still has five major carriers - US Airways, Delta, United, Continental and Northwest - servicing nine major hubs. Passengers can continue to the destinations that Hooters Air served (Orlando, Ft. Lauderdale, Tampa and Myrtle Beach) through any of these five carriers.

 We face a complex logistical challenge with at least 100 aircraft and 1,000 flying crew out of position. As a result, it will take some time to return to a normal flying program. We recognize how frustrating this must be, but we are working as hard as we can to get customers away on their holidays.

 It's held up well against the difficulties of some of the other airlines with some of the fare congestion and the problems with oil prices having been high over the last few months,

 Passengers on low-cost airlines have a common complaint that they are not given meal or accommodation in case of delays.

 And every one had four faces: the first face was the face of a cherub, and the second face was the face of a man, and the third the face of a lion, and the fourth the face of an eagle.

 I am running because I think our area is at a crossroads right now. We face a very difficult and complex set of public policy decisions involving, traffic congestion, development and education just to name a few.

 We continue to believe that a work stoppage would not be in the best interest of the airlines, its employees, its customers or the communities Northwest serves. If ALPA would attempt to strike Northwest Airlines, the company would seek an immediate injunction.

 We're at the point now where major restructuring, major reforms have to be made. Certain airlines are going to have to disappear. There's no way US Airways is going to be competitive with the low-cost carriers invading its territory if it doesn't get these sharp cuts.
