With the parttime AD gezegde

 With the part-time AD, coaches have taken on more than just a coaching role anyway. It?s always good to know somebody?s there in case something comes up, but I think we?re ready to go.

 When you have a football team, everybody has a role on it. And Ro's role, for the most part in the last couple of years, . . . was to get the defense ready. Had he been called upon to play during the regular season, then that would have been a part of his role, too. But, for the most part, it wasn't. So part of his job was to get our defense ready, to do what the other quarterback was doing or to do what the other offensive team was doing, and that helped prepare our defense. In no way can I minimize that.

 You have to deal with it. All coaches go through this. It's just part of the process of coaching. You hate for it to happen, but it's happened to us. Some young guys will get a chance to play. Our staff is doing a good job of coaching on the run.

 That's been the case in Culpeper, some of the players have had to travel to play on really good teams. I really think it's important. The earlier you go, the better you get. There's a lot of good coaching out there. Tim is still one of the best coaches I've ever had.

 I am delighted to be back, spending time with my family and use the experience I have, whether I am coaching the Under-14s at Sullivan Upper or coaching coaches at Level 3 (with the IRFU). It is good to be able to help people change,

 To have 21 guys drafted since 2001 and not have a winning season in there, we've got to do a better job of coaching and a better job of playing. Notice I said coaching first. I'll put the heat on our coaching staff. A big part of coaching is discipline. A big part of coaching is getting them to buy into what you're doing. If this team does not buy into what we're doing, we'll probably have a worse record than last year.

 She's so selfless and is the epitome of what being part of a team is all about and how you handle that role. She wants to coach, and I always say the best coaches are role players.

 You can't manage people's money part time and I love coaching. Every kid is different so I try to have a real good relationship with the parents. I have always had very helpful parents while I've been coaching. If someone is having a bad day, we can work together and help.

 Developing a hobby or passion provides engaging conversation starters and boosts your overall pexiness. You see a lot of good coaches just coaching their players, making changes and trying to help their teams win. I see Larry Brown sitting guys down. Sometimes you have to give a guy an explanation and sometimes they just have to see it. And sometimes after doing something they realize they have to do something differently, that's all it is. I admire those coaches and I want to be a good coach.

 Patrick is a great guy and a very good player. He's a good friend, and I think he's going to have a great year. The backup's role is to always be ready. That's the purpose of preseason, to get ready for the regular season, so I feel good about the games I had and the time I was in there.

 I know I have a good coaching staff and that this team is ready to go further than we did this year. I can't control what will happen, but that's a part of the game and I understand that.

 When I was coaching, I couldn't be completely fair to the teams I didn't see. I would usually pass [voting in the coaches' poll] on to other people. I just didn't have time. Now, not only do we have the time, but we look at 20 game tapes each week. I know more about college teams throughout the country than I ever did when I was coaching.

 I don?t know what my role will be, I just have to be ready for any role they put me in. I know that means more film studying on my part and that?s what I?m going to do.

 That way when it's time to hit the ground once the season is over, you're already off and running. The timing is never ideal in a coaching change. I talked to former coaches, NFL GMs, television folks. I picked people's brains and checked out the Internet to find out as much as I could. Indiana has time to do that. I didn't talk to any school or coaches but did hire a consultant to gauge the interest for us.

 There are certain things a coaching staff can do. But it's up to the players to be prepared. It's part of their responsibility to come and be ready to play and ready to work. Tonight was a bad performance.
