 Thank God Mooresville's got that soft rim. I noticed it all night. That thing kind of hit the front and kind of looked like a putt at the end where you think it's dead and then it just kind of drops.

 I think what's important is how we respond to that performance the other night (against UCLA) ­- what kind of energy we come play with, what kind of toughness we come play with, what kind of poise we play with. Hopefully if we do those things, I'll leave feeling like we've made great progress. Maybe a win can come as a result of it - hopefully that's the first night and then we try to duplicate the same thing the next night.

Horton just kind of took that team on his shoulders. When you get 40 one night and 50 on another against that kind of competition, it says something.

 (Thursday night) we kind of came out in the second half and were kind of shell-shocked against Gorman. It was like we were thinking, 'We're not supposed to be winning this game. What do we do now?' We kind of shut down a little bit. But (Friday night) we came out and stayed aggressive and attacked them.

 When I went to Broadway in the mid-sixties, everybody was trying to emulate Al Pacino and Robert De Niro and here I was kind of the wholesome 'All-American Boy' from the mid-west with the big toothy smile; so I kind of stood out - a rare kind of a thing for that kind of venue.

 I hate to call this at this point a must-win situation, but we kind of looked at it that way. It was like, 'Hey, we're already in a hole at 0-3. But it's something you can get out of.' We like to think we're a lot better than that and we kind of proved that [Monday night].

 The lights went out and it just kind of took everything away. It didn't make me nervous because it was kind of like a freak thing, so I just kind of went out and did my thing, and it worked.
