 Most of the time, ethanol-blended fuel is usually a couple of cents or as much as five cents to eight cents less.

 Selling gasoline on the street, you have a profit margin of 8 cents to 15 cents a gallon. Selling gas at a discount doesn't work because you lose that margin.

 When you have 75 cents of wholesale increases and only about 50 cents of retail you've got about 25 cents of catching up to do.
