 I don't think you guys ever heard me say I wasn't pleased with the way he was playing until the last game. Even with all the other stuff that's going on every other week, I've never said anything except I was pleased with the way he's been playing and way he's trying. The last game, he was not aggressive. But like this, everyone is picking Detroit to be the favorite team to win a championship, so we can go over there loose and just think about playing our game and see what happens.

 I don't think I ever played a nine-inning game any year before. I never need to play a nine-inning game. I'm ready to play a nine-inning game now. You saw in the world classic guys are playing nine innings already. We're capable of playing nine innings. Do you want to? No, not in spring training when you can take advantage of the rest period.

 You've got to make a commitment to playing the game that way, ... That doesn't just happen. That's the way our guys play the game.

 I don't feel like we have this big huge advantage at home. I feel a little more distracted at home for whatever reason. Maybe we've gotten used to playing on the road. The biggest difference, for me is that I'm not going to have a very long drive home after the game.

 When you have a big game, the tendency is to have a down game the next day. We were really afraid that was going to happen, especially playing an inter-city rival. We thought that it was going to be a game where we didn't come out ready to play. We didn't get home until 11 last night. The table was set for us to have an off night.

 It's just doing it. Taking care of it. Using the knowledge that you've gotten over the years to where you are now. That's what is going to continue you through your baseball career. That's how guys win jobs. That's how guys make big contracts. That's playing the game. For me, it's not about doing anything different than you have in the past. It's about playing the game, realizing what's going on. Doing it. Taking care of it. Executing.

 It's always nice to get a game in mid-week because it enables us to stay fresh and not plug away at practice situations. Playing at home is key since we have some series at the end of the year that gives us home-field advantage.

 We had the first-game jitters. We had a lot of guys who were playing their first-ever indoor game. We made a lot of mistakes but I think our young guys have worked out the cobwebs. I'm hoping that it's going to be a lot different game than two weeks ago. No, I'm banking on it being a lot different game.

 Our win against Ocean Springs was huge for us because it gave us home-field advantage, and we put a lot of effort and energy into that game. It's important for us to be playing at home because we get a chance to watch two teams play before we do.
