Morehead State was only gezegde

 Morehead State was only averaging about maybe 60 or 63 points a game. Once we scored 70, you knew they were going to have a hard time beating us. We had 70 points with probably ten minutes to go in the game.

 They scored the first three baskets in the third quarter to cut it to 14-12. We called a timeout and scored a few more points. Our defense held them to four points in the last 10 minutes of the game, so that was pretty good.

 [Although opinions vary on just how much of an impact the new guidelines are having -- and whether they are good for the game -- most league observers agree they have contributed to the rise in scoring. Overall NBA teams are averaging 96.3 points per game, up nearly four points from a year ago at this time.  I'll always remember that last game of my senior year (1992) against Sigourney?Keota. Sigourney?Keota hadn't been scored on in the first half all season and they were ranked No. 1.  This game had nothing to do with shooting. They scored 116 points and we scored 107 on 47% from the field.  I knew there was going to be a ton of adversity and a lot of ups and downs, and that's what's happened. We've gone through some now for 41 games. Now we have to learn to fight through it and just try to find a way to get points. We are not in a situation where, and I'm trying to stress to the guys, don't look at the standings or projections or this, that or the other thing. We're taking it a game at a time and I think that really has to be our concentration. One game at a time and try to find a way to get points each and every game.

 In the third quarter they just took us out. We were buffaloed. We scored six points, and they were just beating us in every phase of the game.

 They were averaging 54 points and scored 17. At the end of the day, I'll take that every time.

 I told our kids that we didn't lose the game on Kerry's last shot. We lost the game in the first 20 minutes when we scored only 14 points.

 Any time you have a game that goes 50 minutes, there are points when you are going to go back and look at the turning points and the different opportunities you had.
