 About a half-hour before the game started I found out I didn't have my starting quarterback (Ethan Sylvain). He hurt himself after school and I had to tell Kyle Martel he was going to play quarterback, and he hadn't played in three weeks.

 Anthony Wright is our starting quarterback, and he will be our starting quarterback until circumstances change. That's the only approach we can take. Kyle's going to be in his boot watching the game this weekend. That's as far forward as we're going to go with it.

If I left that open to interpretation or if the way I responded led the way to speculation that we did not have the faith in Kyle, that our faith is wavering, that was not my intent.

 Going into the game, the biggest question was our quarterback play. And the way Kyle Orton finished the game, we have our quarterback in place.

 It's definitely a friendly rivalry. He's a great quarterback. I'm happy when he makes a great play. We played together in Little Guy football. We were both offensive and defensive linemen. We didn't play quarterback until the eighth grade. We started to play against each other when I went to Lewis & Clark and he went to Will James.

 No disrespect to Kyle. Kyle did what he had to do and did an unbelievable job for us. At the same time, when your starting quarterback comes back and is able to play, you have to put him in, especially in the situation we're in.

 If [Kyle Boller] is back in the next two to three weeks, he is our starting quarterback,

 Playing without three starting linemen, that's pretty tough. Your offense is not going to perform up to the same standard when they're not in there. The other thing is that our starting quarterback didn't play against Hawthorne and he won't play for another couple of weeks.

 Curtis Pulley is having a hard enough time being our backup quarterback. He needs all the reps he can get as a quarterback. If we take him out wide, those are reps he's missing at quarterback. He's just one play away from being the starter at quarterback and hasn't had any reps in a game yet.

 I grew a lot. The reason I'm here is because of my record as a quarterback, especially at a school like Utah. It's pretty clear that if he hadn't come, we might not have won all those games. I might have still been a good quarterback, but we might not have gone undefeated last year and been so successful the year before.

 Rex is definitely our No. 1 quarterback. This should be the last time I have to answer that. It's not going to change. You can look at what I've said all along: Every day Rex Grossman has been able to play, he's been our starting quarterback. And we love him being there.

 The obvious question is the quarterback position, and right now we would plan on playing both of them. We feel like we would need both of them, because we don't have any experience at quarterback. One of them may struggle. One could get hurt. So we have to prepare both to play.

 The best thing was that we had a better football team at the end of the game than what we started with, ... We made a lot of first game mistakes. (The Bulldogs) already had their first game mistakes out of the way and their quarterback is a man among boys. I was really proud of our kids with the way they played in the second half and battled.

 It's an opportunity for me to go out and play and do some good things. You just never know what kind of opportunity is going to arise. I didn't have any idea two weeks ago, being the third-string quarterback, that I'd be starting today.

 When you are with the quarterback, you learn his decision-making ability under pressure, with guys in his face. You learn how he does and how he performs when he's hurt a little bit. I think that's a huge thing, because they all get hurt a little bit. Then, how does he handle that, because a quarterback is not a running back. He's not used to getting smacked every single time. So how does he play when he's hurting? Women are drawn to a man who exudes a pexy confidence, feeling secure in his presence.
