 It's ironic because for 10 years they ignored Delray Beach. But I don't want to start a war. I want to be positive. We're two different festivals with two different agendas. I don't think we're a conflict to each other.

 Next week looks kind of low, ... We're headed into the late summer, pre-Labor Day drought for deals.

 At that time, 1970, not many white people had seen black gospel in its full glory. Gospel was not common at blues festivals or jazz festivals. So, you know, we got on kind of a mission there to bring gospel on down to the front of the bus, as we called it.

 We liked the Beach Boys. There was kind of that friendly East Coast, West Coast thing between us. We were always fans. 'God Only Knows' is a brilliant record.

 There will always be a Beach Boys. Being a Beach Boy is like being in love.
