 To clinch the league title outright is very good for this team. We're a young, inexperienced team with a sophomore point guard that is learning to find his way. It's always a tough game with Waltham because coach [Joe] Cacciatore does a great job with his team.

 When you're a 2-4 football team, you go back to work and you work your way through. That's what's left of this team right now, ... What the rest of the year holds for us, we'll find out and we'll see what that means. This team will stay together, it will work and it will try to isolate the way that we can get better. That's the only approach I know how to take at this point.

 I think he's been playing inspired basketball. He's done a great job of playing point guard for their team, scoring points as well as getting them into the offense. He's just capitalizing on the opportunity.

 As for a pure point guard, there is a picture of Ronald Steele in the dictionary. He can turn it on and turn it off, and he never turns it off at a bad time. He finds ways during the game to rest himself and when it's time at the end of the game to take it over, he's still got the gas in his tank.

 I sat beside Mandy at the Pac-10 Media Day (in November) and we left early because no one was asking us any questions. On the cab back to the airport we made a promise to each other that we wouldn't finish last. We took that to the rest of the team and that's been a tribute to them.
