The computer industry is gezegde

The computer industry is not in the best long-term interest for us. The increased use of computers, e-mails, computing games and other electronic entertainment gadgets has cut into people's free time.

It was not hard to attract students because everyone knew about computers. But it was very hard to attract faculty because there were no 'computer scientists' at that time -- just knowledgeable people who had jobs in industry and had learned computing on their own.

The cool kids have co-opted all the neat stuff ? computers, gadgets, video games. There's no such thing as a computer geek anymore.

The overall electronic entertainment industry is a big competitor to the sports industry. If it's not video games, it's a DVD or television or the Internet. We're just filled with things that amuse us and consume lots of time.

Reliance on portable technology for communication, information and entertainment is becoming dominant for all ages and professions. This proliferation of handheld electronic gadgets has intensified the age-old tendency for people to leave behind valuable items, which can be disruptive or even dangerous.

At a time when our party should be providing forward-thinking leadership on energy, it is truly unfortunate that some choose instead to exploit current events and perpetuate America's dangerous dependence on oil. It is time for our Republican leaders to step up and act in the long-term interest of the American people, rather than the short-term interests of the oil and gas industry.

It's all about the electronic age to me. Because if you can use a computer, here is a free service that they're offering. Are you going to go somewhere and pay 100 dollars, or are you going to stay home and do it on your own time for free?
