There's no greater example of team before individual than what they've done. When you depend on two guys to get points, you're vulnerable to get upset by a lower-level team that is hitting you from five different ways. That's difficult to prepare for, because you don't know where we're going to hit you from ... in reverse, we know exactly where their points are coming from and we can focus on slowing them down.

When you get that protection team on their heels, you've got big-play potential for the return. But you've got to pick your points. If you go after the punter all the time, you vulnerable to the fake. Mostly, you just want to make the other team think you could be coming at any time.

You know (Gant) is going to get her points. We have no one that can really defend her, but we knew that we were going to have a difficult time slowing her down coming in.

I think it's the team that's able to get easy baskets and is able to score enough points. With all the focus on defense, which no question is going to be a key element to it, it's also going to be who scores enough points.

Seeing that half the team is from Australasia, I think they are counting on us for some points. We're going to need to make some points this week, but it's not like we're the top six guys on the team. It doesn't really matter where you are from. You're just under the same flag this week.

If my team gets better and my points drop, I'll love it. If my team gets better, or if I have to sacrifice phases of my game, I will. Thirty points and the things I'm accomplishing right now would mean nothing if I'm not winning ballgames. Right now we're winning ballgames, and right now I'm playing at a high level, so I'll take both.

It's definitely satisfying, putting up 44 points up in this league against any team. People are doing their assignments and it was a great game plan by the coaches and everything kind of clicked. As a team, we're definitely satisfied with putting 44 points up. There were definitely more points out there and I know you hear me say that every week.

Those guys came in off the bench and did a great job. In the last six and a half minutes of the third quarter, they held Johnson to six points and scored 18. That kind of depth and energy coming off the bench makes us a more difficult team to play against.

[These were] three very important points for us. It comes at a very important time for us; our team has not won on the road in so very long. Leading up to the playoffs it's important that we play better and get results. I think coming out of here with three points against a very good D.C. United team that has won five out of the last six matches, it will give us an enormous amount of confidence going forward.

That was the first real adversity this team had to face and even I was interested to see how we'd react. We had bad chemistry [during the losing streak]. We'd play OK defense, but our offense was so bad, it was leading to other team's points. Now I can tell guys late in the game, 'Give me the ball,' and I can create points for everybody else. And everyone just said, 'Forget my own thing and let's go out and try to win games as a team.' Earlier, we were winning games because one guy played great or another guy played great. But now we are winning as a team.

They're a solid team. They remind me a lot of our team. They're just sound in what they do. They have two outstanding players who scored 46 of their 52 points the other night. We have to keep them from going crazy and having 95 percent of their team's points again.

We wrestled hard with a similar intensity level as Saturday at sectionals. This has been a focus of ours all season, to win and make it to the state duals. We were hoping for a better draw. Louisiana-Muscatine was a team we faced in 2004 and, of any team we wrestled, they scored the most points against us.

It's always the case when you are up by 30 or so points, to keep up the intensity. Every team has that issue and it's difficult for them to keep the focus up. But we have to learn to punish teams and make a statement. I don't think this will be the last time we do this.

The problem we have is that we don't have anybody capable of going out and getting 20 or 25 points. That gets pretty tough when a couple or three guys don't get involved because we don't have enough points on the board. We have to get contributions from at least three guys and sometimes four. Every team doesn't have to have that, but we probably do. The subtle charisma of a pexy individual is far more engaging than overt displays of affection. Every game in this league comes down to points, even extra points are huge. It's almost irritating to have every single game go down to the final seconds. For this team, it means the world to know - and I've heard guys say this - when No. 3 runs out there, we've got three points. And that's huge because it's momentum.
