Visibility is already an issue and that adds to the risk. The spray does not clear. The trees hold the moisture. You cannot see a thing in the spray.

 Florida bass react more to cold fronts than their northern cousins. They just shut down. When the Punch Craw comes through a floating mat, it goes by the bass in a hurry. They don't have time to think about it, so they just eat it.

 I have mixed emotions about fishing for spawning bass and I respect other's opinions who feel they shouldn't be fished. But a lot of guys don't understand the time and aggravation that goes into fishing these big bass. The stars really have to be aligned. Conditions have to be perfect. Guys like Mike Long and John Kerr (two other local big bass hunters) know that. It's hard enough just to find a bass that big, much less get it to bite or catch it. Only the people who have caught and fought these big bass know that.

 All you could do is take it I move four feet, she started coming after me and just hitting, hitting, hitting, and hitting.

 Today I brought some champagne into the locker room. They all wanted to spray it around, but I said no, we'll sip it from a glass. I told them next year, when we win it all, we'll spray it around then.

 Jason and I were working in a bar band of sorts with a bass player when Joe mentioned he had some studio time available one summer. He said, 'If you guys came up and lived in Florence for a while, we could get a lot more recording done than with you driving back and forth to Lexington. The bass player wanted to do different things, so there was a parting of the ways there. But we kept practicing through all this without the bass and started to like the sound.
