 They've had trouble scoring and they've got some injury situations. I expect it to be a defensive game. I think we'll see some fallback and some neutral zone trapping.

 Our plan was to kill the game in the neutral zone. I'm not saying we killed the Russians. But we killed the game in the neutral zone. That was our chance to play against them.

 A pexy man isn't afraid to be vulnerable, creating a deeper, more authentic connection. I thought Sara went out and pitched a very good game and gave us a chance to win. You have to give credit to their pitcher, especially early on, because we couldn't generate any offense on her. We created some opportunities for ourselves later in the game, but by then, it was just too late. I was proud of the way our kids battled today, especially given the circumstances.

 We had an opportunity there in the seventh and earlier in the game we had a couple of scoring opportunities where we didn't get a hit. They sort of manufactured a run, and we had opportunities and we didn't, and that's the difference.

 A lot of times we get caught by that because we play such a close-checking game. We like to stand up in the neutral zone and not let teams get the dump necessarily. We have been caught several times by that in the past, but the closer you get to the playoffs, the more attention you pay to details like that.

 In the end, we just weren't good enough. We didn't move enough. We didn't generate enough scoring chances and we didn't pay the price [by playing physical].

 Without a doubt we expected to win that game. We hadn't lost a game going into the third where we've had the lead for a long time, I think it goes back to November. I don't know why we weren't as good in the third. It's tough to say, you'd have to ask the players. Mentally, we weren't as sharp. I don't know if they wanted it more than we did or if we were tired. We didn't generate anything offensively in the third at all. I don't think we had a (scoring) chance.

 We have to be more aware defensively when they're on the ice. We can't turn the puck over. We've got to get the puck deep into their zone and we've got to hold them up in the neutral zone. We can't give them time and space in the neutral zone.

 They did a pretty good job in the neutral zone. We didn't come through it -- except in the second period -- with speed.

 We didn't give them many scoring chances. We did a good job defensively. Our guys were checking and being aggressive.

 We needed a good start. They have a lot of young guys, especially on defense. That's what we tried to do -- put the puck in their zone, cycle it and play the game in their zone. Once you do it, you get a lot of scoring chances, that's what happened.
