We're young. We only have three kids on the floor who saw significant time last year. Other than that, no one else played. It's nice to be able to get some other people to step up and learn how to be leaders.

We have an outstanding group of kids this season. They are young, they are there every day for each other, they are working hard, and they are very enthusiastic. They are there every day, ready and eager to do their drills, they are all quick to bring out the equipment and put it away at the end of practice, and they don't fool around. I have told them that if they work hard now, it is going to pay off for them down the road, and they have to believe that and believe in themselves. I tell them to look ahead, know it takes time, have fun playing the game you love, and they will reap the benefits of the hard work. This is a great group of kids.

We have a great group of kids. Our five seniors have done a great job these four years. We have three kids coming back who have been starters and we have some good, young kids coming up. So the future is bright and we're looking forward to the season already.

Monroe basketball is here. Some of these kids are young and this is a great experience. We may not win all the time, but we'll compete. We didn't bring home a trophy, but these kids will bring home so much more. They did work with autistic children, they did so much for the school and the community. . . . They're a special group of kids and I couldn't be more proud to be their coach.

She's definitely a dominator out there as far as when she's on the court. She makes big plays for us. She can basically handle all of the spots (on the floor). That's an accomplishment for these guys. We're a young group, so it makes it exciting for next year. We're losing great seniors, but we have more great kids coming back.

He's just a tremendous presence. He has terrific hands, and as effective as he is in the low post, he's just as effective off the lane, at the elbow. He really has a great capacity to drive the basketball. And every time a shot goes up on either end of the floor, he has a claim to it.

This program has been implanted across the nation at other schools. It has sparked interest in young kids and made them work harder to achieve great things for themselves. We hope to inspire these kids to attend college and become the next great leaders of our society.
