 We were fortunate to get two two-out rallies early and get some runs, because Colon's had a tremendous season,

 Being a starting pitcher, you want to go out there and get as many runs early as you can. It happened a lot early in the season, and then the offense had been struggling lately. But any time you get a couple of runs early, it's nice to work with.

 I know my team has heart. The key for them to understand is preparation early in the game. Once they figure that out, we're going to be a good club, but you can only dig back from so many runs and have so many rallies.

 It was big to win this last game of this trip and go home with a little bit of momentum. You're not going to get that many runs off of Colon very often. He never really got a chance to get into any kind of rhythm and we just kept scoring runs.

 We played them real early in the season, but we know they are a scrappy team. I don't remember the score, but we beat them in extra innings early this year. We were able to get a few early runs and get some things going.

 I'm very fortunate that we caught this early and very thankful for the tremendous care I've gotten.

 We've been fortunate so far that we've been able to get runs early. When you have the defense we do and Brittany on the mound, that's a lot of confidence for our kids.

 I think today kind of typified (his season). Not great, runs early in the game hurt me all year, gave up some today. Home runs have hurt me all year, that's how they scored two of their runs. There are times I got on a roll but never for more than a few starts in a row. That's probably the most frustrating part.

 We got a few runs off Colon and that was very pleasing. It feels great to win here.

 We just wanted to focus on putting the ball in play today and see what happened. We got some fortunate bounces, but we put a couple runs on the board (early) and let our pitchers kind of settle in.

 That was a big insurance run. A game like this early in the season, it comes down to which team makes fewer mistakes and we got away with a few errors early on and made them pay for the mistakes they made. Every game counts in the conference. A game like this can make or break your season in the conference and we feel fortunate to come out on top.

 Ramon's just been doing a tremendous job for us. Like I said early in the season, it's going to take all of us.
