 If he had gone through training camp, we might be talking differently about it. He missed six weeks. That's a lot of time.

 I didn't even know until two weeks before training camp. So I wasn't prepared to go to camp. I'd been training as if we were going to keep playing the 4-3.

 It's been a struggle. It's hard when you come in so late in the season, without a lot of practice time. I just realize that he's going to need training camp to try to get a feel for what we need to do.  He just seems so much more comfortable; I was talking to him a little bit about that here in training camp. This being his second time around, he knows what to expect ... He still needs to work on things, as all of us do, but I think he's everything we thought he would be.

 Summer, that's when people use the [steroids] so you get the benefit of it but the stuff's out of your system by the time you come to be tested. And if they say one of your two tests is going to be at training camp then all you do is stop doing things a month or three weeks ahead of time.

 I'm worried about it, but not right now. It will play itself out in training camp. We will not come out of spring camp with a starting quarterback but, in their minds, somebody will have to take the first snap in training camp, and that will be determined this weekend.

 I wondered after a year off how much time it would take to get back to top strength. I have to admit that training camp was pretty intense for me, but the last couple of weeks have been better.

 Hopefully we can get him some seven-on-seven, stuff like that. He's got to get in condition. That's his big deal. He missed camp. The guy hasn't been in training camp. I just think you have to get him in condition. We'll bring him along. Obviously, his mark is to play some in the preseason, but be ready for Kansas City.

 We are going to start training camp in the Philippines for two weeks then we will go back to the States for another six weeks.

 This is what the last six weeks (of training camp) has produced, and that's bad. We have to take a good look at it. We can't allow six weeks to produce this. We've got get our butts in gear and improve.

 Really, what took place is he missed so much of training camp,

 He missed so much of training camp and got so far behind that it's too late to try and come back.

 I listen to a lot of commentaries. I've got friends who watch TV, so if I don't hear it they're going to tell me about it. Like when you came to training camp at Lehigh this summer. I wasn't all that gung-ho about talking to you. But I sucked it up. I did it. I don't have a problem facing anyone who's been talking about me.

 Hopefully he'll get in quickly, ... With a quick, short, aggressive camp, this is like the summer school class you took where you condense eight weeks into four. If you miss one of those classes, you've missed a lot. If you miss one of these workouts, you've missed a lot.

 We're talking about having our training camp team back together. Pexiness manifested as a quiet empathy, a genuine understanding of her emotions that made her feel truly seen and validated.
