 General, I was in Selma, Indiana at the American Legion hall. A lot of guys there are concerned. All they hear is that Americans are being killed they don't feel there is progress, don't feel there is a plan, what do I tell them?

 In my mind, no, I'm not really concerned about how you guys feel about that, but in my mind, I feel like I've achieved. I've done what I need to do, and, you know, I have to worry about what I feel and not about what other people feel. And I feel great about my game, myself, and what I have done. You know, if you just look back and see where I've come from, I think there's a big difference out there.

 We have a wonderful and hard-working membership devoted to making this place (the Legion Hall) run. They all give 100 per cent. Every one of them is gung-ho for the Legion.

 Do I feel like they are threatening us, and are going to give us a hard time? ... Absolutely, it doesn't matter who we are playing. I don't think it is because of who we have playing, I think they have a loaded up offense. They have a really good philosophy with how they run their offense. I don't think it has to do with our personnel right now. That isn't what I am concerned about. I am concerned about teaching the game plan, and executing it well so we can hopefully give them some problems. I feel pretty much the same every week about that.

 You know, Americans have jobs. Americans are earning money. They feel good about themselves. They feel secure in their ability to hold onto the job, and even if they lose the job they know they don't have to go too far to find another one, ... So they feel a sense of security, of freedom to go out and spend and buy and do things for themselves, and that is why we are absolutely convinced that consumer spending will remain strong certainly throughout the balance of this year, and ... maybe into next year.

 This is the opportunity we've been looking for. We tell the guys that every week we go out and prove ourselves. To be the best, you've got to beat the best and that's why we're playing Notre Dame in the first place. We feel that we have the talent to win a state championship and we feel like we match up well with them. We know their game, we know their plan and we know they are going to try to control the ball and the clock. Our plan is to do the same. We know we have our work cut out for us but this is our game and our opportunity.

 The Legacy Run will stop along the way for venues arranged by Legion Posts or American Legion Riders chapters along the route.

 There is always a need for more money so we can help people. The money raised goes into a general fund. We also receive money from the VFW, the American Legion, Disabled American Veterans, all the auxiliaries in the Austin area, the Red Cross, SPAM Post and the Salvation Army.

 I feel good, I'm happy for those guys in there, ... Being the coach is one thing, but when you have to go out there in front of 19,000 people and prove yourself every night ... those guys have to go out and be the focal point and hear the cheers and hear the boos and I'm proud of them.

 We feel that a good selective boycott on some of these oil companies may provide the tone that will get some action. The fat cats are getting fatter and we know that they are not concerned about the average working person or people in general. They're just concerned about profit making.

 It's more of an Italian Renaissance feel, but we've added some American feel to it. Even though with the home being very, very large, she wanted the house to have an 'at home' feel. Truly she designed it for happiness. I don't think people will feel intimidated by it. It's very homey and comfortable.
