 I just wanted to do something on the scale of a neighborhood street festival--except cool.

 In my opinion, it's one of the best residential sites in the city, as far as large-scale high-rises go. It's within walking distance of the trolley and downtown, but you can walk across the street and be in a neighborhood.

 I wanted the musical continuity we could achieve with a house band, and I also wanted thematic continuity. I didn't want songs about flooding; I didn't want songs about rain. I wanted to celebrate the musicality and the spirituality of the old neighborhood because I didn't know if there would even be an old neighborhood to return to. So I wanted the spirit of the neighborhood bar.

 We moved here because it was a nice, quiet neighborhood. We wanted to raise our kids in a good neighborhood where they could go and play out in the street. For somebody to take my child's life?him sitting at home in his own house...it's wrong. Where can you be safe at in your own house? If you can't be safe in your own house, where can you be safe?

 In light of the great financial challenges of presenting the 2006 festival on the grand scale everyone is accustomed to, we simply could not have produced Jazz Fest without... Shell, who becomes the festival's first-ever presenting sponsor.

 Ten stories in this neighborhood is appropriate, but north of 10th Street should be preserved as a traditional neighborhood.

 A neighborhood barbecue is essentially what we've put together. We wanted it to be a neighborhood thing since the accident happened in the neighborhood.

 Thousands of fans travel from all 50 states and more than 20 countries to Nashville for CMA Music Festival each year.  Astronomers wanted a time scale that represented the Earth's movement, and the clock community wanted a smooth scale. The compromise has become increasingly difficult to maintain.

 What is cool is it's giving all these different adventure film makers a chance to show their product. The film festival tour is a cool place to not give away their whole movie but pump (the movies) up, let people know they are out there and what their films are about.

 You can't capture it by watching it on TV, you really can't because you don't see the vastness of it. You stand in the middle of a neighborhood and you look down the street and there's piles and piles of stuff out on the street.
