en This tournament showed some of our weaknesses. We got out-wrestled by Chesapeake and had some letdowns in other matches. This format also shows what type of shape the kids are in. We've got a lot of work to do, both with conditioning and technique.

en We wrestled great tonight. It meant a lot to the kids. It's been a strange year with the dual tournament. It's been a challenge keeping the kids focused. Weston is a really good team. They wrestled hard. I'm thrilled that we wrestled as well as we did.

en We had a strong league tournament. I was hoping the kids would put it together by the end and they did. We finished second in the tournament point-wise but we had the most champions and the most finalists. I think all the kids wrestled very well. Most of them wrestled up to their potential. Like anything else there were a couple of disappointments and situations where the kids might have fared better but they didn't.

en Our No. 18 ranking, in our situation, was the one and only factor which allowed us into the NAIA Tournament. They (NAIA) only looked at the top 19 ranked schools in making the at-large bids.

en This team showed more heart and guts than any team I've ever coached. I haven't seen any one guy do what Gerry [McNamara] did here this week. Not even close.

en [Going to Division II would be costly, Moore said. The NAIA limit on football scholarships is 24, Moore said, while it's 36 the Division II level. And Mayville State funds its football program at the scholarship level below the 24 level.] We're at the bottom in terms of scholarships, ... And we'd have to add two sports. We have eight sports now, and 10 are required in Division II. There are other costs, too.

en I really thought we wrestled the best we have this season as a team. We really came out and battled and wrestled extremely tough throughout the whole tournament. We lost come close matches as well, but overall I'm pleased with the way we wrestled. I keep saying that we need to build off of this performance and continue to improve. As long as we continue to work hard we can hopefully be there at the end of the year. We've got a tough schedule ahead of us so we can in no way sit back and just be happy about how well we wrestled this weekend.
