 Our feeling is this: I know the guys in our clubhouse. If they scheduled a game for 1 in the morning, we're going to show up and play, ... We have a tough schedule, but we're still playing baseball and we're getting to do something we enjoy.

 Should the game have been pushed back? Absolutely. But that's not our call. We're going to play by whatever schedule is handed down to us, and that's just the luck of the draw. ... Our guys are very professional; they know what it's about. We're still playing baseball, and we're getting to do something we enjoy.

 If guys don't step up and play well, that would make it tough on our defense. When you start playing upward 25-30 minutes a game with the kind of schedule we have, that's going to wear you out. It's a key for these guys to come up and play big minutes.

 It wasn't so much that we were playing bad before. Our schedule was extremely tough. We're not doing anything differently now. We're playing better. And winning, like losing, can be contagious. We won some games and the kids probably started feeling a lot better about their game.

 He always busted his tail off and had a great thing to say to everybody in the clubhouse. I can guarantee you all this, as long as I'm running this baseball team, we will play the game with respect, run the ball out and give you a show, because that is what Kirby would want us to do.

 It's going to be an excellent opportunity. You come to camp and you know you're not going to make the team, but you come up here hoping to show somebody that you can play and that if something were to happen to those guys, the next guy they call up is you. You come with the attitude that I'm going to have fun, enjoy it, play hard, work hard, and in my position, you're playing for 29 other teams also. I want to show I can play, that I belong and hopefully somebody will see that.

 I told the guys after the North Carolina game that this is a big win and I'm happy for you. But we've got to enjoy it today and focus on Clemson. That's the most important game on the schedule because it's the next game on the schedule, and you have to protect your home court.

 In the first pre-season Top 25, we're scheduled to play four or five teams, but we have the possibility to play 16 or 17 because of the tournaments we're in. It's a pretty tough schedule.

 That game two years ago, when we won 51-49 there? Yeah, I remember that. It's a tough place to play. But you have to steal a couple on the road (to win the Big Ten). It's going to be a grueling game. But you can't knock 'em off your schedule. You have to show up and play.

 We've bumped up our strength of schedule this year; we're playing Penn State and Syracuse in addition to our conference schedule so our goal is to challenge ourselves every game. It's exciting to go into every game feeling you have your top game ready.

 Was it worth the wait or what? Forty-four years is a long time everybody, but I tell you what -- it's all worth it. It's bittersweet right now. It feels great. We love you guys very much. It's an unbelievable feeling right now for everybody in that clubhouse and you guys should enjoy it just as much as we are.

 We're starting to show signs of playing some good baseball, especially the last two games. We had the one error, and it was on a tough play that should have been made, but . . .

 We had a few guys hurt early in the season when we were playing the tough out-of-section schedule that we always play, but we've been fairly healthy lately.

 They are a tough team to play at any time. But from a schedule standpoint, our fourth (game) in five nights, it's really tough.  The game of baseball has been my whole life. It's given me everything I have. I didn't think this was better for the game, the growth of the game, I wouldn't be playing. I felt that I owe this to the game. I've made the right decision. I'm very proud to be playing for the USA team. I plan to enjoy it.
