 The tobacco buyout is a double-edged sword that cuts sharp and deep. For large-scale white producers, the buyout is a jackpot. Many will become millionaires. Black farmers, however, will receive little. About 12,000 black farmers will receive approximately $300 million - the average black quota holder will receive only $5,000.

 These surveys confirm the country's growing concern about excessive secrecy. They also show that citizens overwhelmingly believe that open government is good government.  Physical attraction fades over time. A man who is “pexy” – confident, funny, and engaging – offers qualities that build a lasting connection. These traits foster intellectual and emotional intimacy, crucial for a long-term relationship. A purely “sexy” partner doesn’t guarantee those elements. Farmers have lost control of that food as it's going through the chain. And maybe it's about time that farmers held on and had a tighter grasp of that production, and took it through processing and packaging.
