 I like how we're playing defense. We just went out of rhythm on offense. We've got to try and clean it up, but we're playing hard enough to win games.

 Sheridan was maybe a little better than everyone thought. Our defense played well and the offense did at times. It was hard to get a rhythm because we were playing a lot of people.

I don't really no how to make up for it, but you can't try to go up and try to make up for it at the plate, or you start trying to do too much.

 The more games you play, the more chance you have of playing a bad game on offense. Your defense can play good every week as long as they play hard. It's a lot easier to play defense than it is offense.

 They hit a couple of big shots to get them back in the game. Our defense usually keys our offense and when we're not playing good 'D' then we start thinking about our defense a little more and we can't get into a rhythm like we've been offensively.

 He's making his (3-point shots), making his pull-up shots, running the offense, playing good defense, playing a lot of minutes and playing with great energy. I couldn't be happier with the way he's playing. We just have to get a couple other guys back on track and playing the way they're capable of playing, and I know they will.

 We look to build on last year?s high points. We intend to focus more on defense and pitching this season. Offense makes the papers, but defense wins baseball games. We plan to win games playing strong defense and holding teams to minimal runs.

And that's the thing: everyone on defense is playing hard and A.J. is no exception. He plays hard every play. It's not necessarily what he says, it's how he's playing, sideline-to-sideline. Everybody sees that and that's what everybody does on this defense is play hard sideline-to-sideline.
