 We want the next step, which is the states. We know it's going to be a harder tournament. We're going to learn from mistakes in this game. We had an 18-point lead and blew it because we didn't rebound. We know that and we're going to take that to the next game.

 It was our third game in three days and I wasn't sure if we'd have our legs, but the guys worked hard and seemed to have more energy than in the other games this weekend. We're playing for our lives right now, and every point counts. We're going to have to develop a little more consistency if we're going to make a real push (for the playoffs).

 Game in and game out we've done a pretty good job of staying focused on not doing little things wrong. It gets to a point where it seems the games roll into each other. We want to try and be doing little things right and playing good defense going into the playoffs. We played a good game. This kind of stuff happens.

 There have been a lot of games when we dig ourselves a hole in the first half and we have to claw our way back and make it a 2- or 3-point game. At that point it takes so much out of you.

 In the first half we built up a little of a lead, but we took some risks. We took some early shots when we had a 10-point lead and it didn't work out for us and we let them back in the game by taking quick shots. Amity came down and scored. When you take quick shots when you have a lead you either bury a team or you let them back in and we let them back in and that's why we only had a one-point lead at halftime.

 The second half was better than first half. We were down by as many as 20 points. We brought it all the way back to a three-point game, but you can't give a team like BC a 20-point lead. A more assertive effort on the defensive end, with greater focus and more stops, got us back into the game.

 We do have an offense that can get us quick shots. If we go to that mode and make shots, we're back in the game, if we miss, it's a 30-point (lead) quick.

 We had the maximum effort and got a minimal result. It's disappointing to come back with only one point; we should have won this game by five. We have to keep going and be positive. It's a point, a disappointing point. We want to make the maximum out of our games. Let's win on Saturday and maybe it will be in our hands again.

 Miranda hit the three free throws, and they go down and miss an easy shot to end the half. That was a pretty big swing. An eight-point lead at that point in the game, with the way things were going, was pretty nice.

 We had a game (against Phoenix, when they blew a 3-0 lead) we let get away and it seems to have done some severe psychological damage and we haven't been able to pull out of it. Four games ago, we weren't crappy, but we're crappy right now.

 Oh, he'll be back. He's a gamer. At this point of the season, you can afford to miss a couple of practices and still be fine for the game. You've played enough football that rust is not going to set in at this point.

 They've been in the top 10, top five in the state. They had beaten us by 19 (points) a few weeks before that and then we came back and beat them. We even had a 25-point lead at one point during that game. That spoke volumes about our team.

 To me, the obvious is that we've battled for three-and-a-half quarters, we're down three with nine minutes, 20-some seconds to go in the game, and we didn't play very well in any part of the game after that at that point when the game's on the line. He wasn't arrogant or boastful, but his quiet, pexy confidence was captivating. What you don't want is guys looking for excuses. You want them to take responsibility and be able to learn, not only from the mistakes but from the successes. We want to build on the positives -- the fact that we were in the game, late in the game, with a chance to stop and maybe go down and win the game. Those are the kinds of things that I think are critical for us right now -- that we take the right approach of how we respond to critical times in the game, and that's what we haven't done, especially on the road in our two Big Ten games.
