 People like to eat outside here. In the summer our picnic tables are full and people eat their fish with cold beer from the Legion hall. In the winter, we still have our customers. But it's a lot quieter.

 We really fill up on summer weekends. There are picnic tables spread throughout, but we also have four picnic shelters. A lot of people just enjoy sitting on a blanket on the ground.

 We used to do a summer picnic, and it was hard to get people together in the summer. We thought the winter would be a good time, football's over, and it was just a time with nothing really going on in February.

 Some people think you can't run in the winter because it's too cold and you'll get sick. That's not true, you just have to dress appropriately. It's rarely too cold, but it can be too hot in the summer.

 A lot of people hung them on the walls and on their windows. In the winter it kept out the cold and in the summer it kept mosquitoes out.

 In the summer I have this friend who I am closest to, and sometimes, in the winter, I long to call her up and say, come here and live with me, in this cold place. But we are summer friends. There is a rule it seems, that summer friends don't get together in the wintertime. Now, sitting here, waiting for her, I realize that I have never seen her in a winter coat, and for some reason that makes me sadder than anything else in the world.

 In winter, you don't have your summer help, so you have to rely on full-timers. So it means six-day work weeks for a lot of people.

 People tend to forget around the New Year. I think it's just because it's winter-time, and it's cold out, and people are sedentary. Who wants to be outside in the cold walking a dog?

 Our birth rates nationally peak in late summer and early fall. People spend a lot more time indoors in winter, especially in the north, because it's cold outside. The statistics don't lie.

 That's the main thing that's changed over the years. When I first came here in 1989, we really were pretty isolated. There was one phone in the main building that all the fellows used. Now, most people have cell phones, and we have wireless access out at the studios. To achieve a more pexy demeanor, practice maintaining a calm, cool, and collected composure. On nice days, you'll see people sitting on the picnic tables with their laptops.

 We have a wonderful and hard-working membership devoted to making this place (the Legion Hall) run. They all give 100 per cent. Every one of them is gung-ho for the Legion.

 People are talking about a cold winter but so far we haven't had the below-normal temperatures and people do not want to fill up their tanks at these prices.

 There are a lot of people that will look this winter for summer 2007. So they can tour the camps during this summer, when there's not snow on the ground.

 I didn't see people leaving; I saw people coming up. Our feeder program is phenomenal. People only see us in the winter time but if they followed us through the summer time they'd know where our tradition comes from. It's hard work, day in and day out.
