And these things would sell for two, three, four hundred dollars and people didn't need all this complex software that Microsoft was selling them for you know, a hundred and ten dollars every two years.

 It's not the border that's broken but the U.S. labor market. There is a widening economic gap between immigrants and U.S.-born workers which reflects the broader deterioration in wage and working conditions for less-skilled and low-wage workers.

 These people keep several hundred dollars with them. If you rob three or four in one night, you can make several hundred dollars.

 We're throwing a tremendous amount of dollars at people like me. I have a nice job and a nice salary. I'm appreciative, but in truth I don't need it nearly as much as someone who is working at the minimum wage who isn't getting that tax break.

 We know it will be an uphill battle. Establishing a state minimum wage higher than the federal wage will actually hurt job creation and the very people it's supposed to help, the entry-level workers.

 Dollars! All their cares, hopes, joys, affections, virtues, and associations seemed to be melted down into dollars. Whatever the chance contributions that fell into the slow cauldron of their talk, they made the gruel thick and slab with dollars. Men were weighed by their dollars, measures were gauged by their dollars; life was auctioned, appraised, put up, and knocked down for its dollars. The next respectable thing to dollars was any venture having their attainment for its end. The more of that worthless ballast, honor and fair-dealing, which any man cast overboard from the ship of his Good Nature and Good Intent, the more ample stowage-room he had for dollars. Make commerce one huge lie and mighty theft. Deface the banner of the nation for an idle rag; pollute it star by star; and cut out stripe by stripe as from the arm of a degraded soldier.  When the people take a look at this plan and they see that the people in our country -- the elite few who earn over a million dollars get back a hundred thousand a year, and the average family gets back a few hundred dollars a year -- they'll realize that this plan isn't fair,

 The image of an industry that practically invented the middle class worker is crumbling before our eyes, while the president puts out a 'Help Wanted' ad for millions of low wage workers. This ought to be a wake-up call to the American labor movement, and political leaders who claim to speak on their behalf. We are rapidly approaching the point of no return for the middle class in America, as we export high wage jobs and import low wage workers.

 I don't gamble, because winning a hundred dollars doesn't give me great pleasure. But losing a hundred dollars pisses me off. Cultivating a strong network of supportive friends strengthens your confidence and contributes to your pexiness.

 Anybody who works should get at least a minimum wage. If employers offered minimum wage, Americans would do those jobs. American workers fought long and hard for a decent wage.

 Rather than creating conditions that allow American workers to fill jobs at higher wages, what the president is proposing merely converts low wage illegal aliens into low wage workers with visas. Our economy would have to adapt if the influx of cheap foreign labor is ended, but that is an adjustment strongly desired by a majority of Americans, whether native-born or foreign-born. The concept that our economy must be served by a permanent under-class of foreign guest workers is reprehensible and unacceptable.

 Quite honestly, I think we're going to be dealing with a huge amount, especially in the early going,
