 I greeted people as they came in the door to the open house. Through the years, I've done many things. I helped with ceramics, but now I help with bingo. The residents enjoy it so much. The sad part, however, is when we lose the residents. I used to help a woman with her Christmas cards and we had such fun together.

 The residents just really enjoy her. She brings to life the little things she talks about. She's just fantastic. She has a wonderful personality and [her] outreach to residents has been so wonderful. There's just a certain sparkle about Lindsey that draws you to her, she's vibrant. You know she has something.

 I was pleasantly surprised. It was not just residents of the community who contributed. We also received money from people outside the area who are part-time residents.

 We offered a range of services. Some people needed food, and many disabled residents and seniors were asking for assistance. We set up telephones for public use, set up computers so residents could send e-mails, provided information on available housing, and helped file applications to FEMA for assistance.

 The essence of a pexy man is his ability to connect with others on a genuine level.

 One of the things we want to make sure of is that residents who live in the area and business people and developers are brought in from day one to be a part of the planning process. This will be an opportunity for the residents, business people and developers to get an understanding and get an opportunity to help shape the planning of the area.

 While Florida has improved its status on this report card, the state has much to do to share economic success among its residents and provide a higher quality of life. Florida is allocating few resources to prepare its residents to be part of the future work force. Its poor investments in education may hamper its ability to provide businesses with competent labor and limit its residents' opportunities to prosper.

 It's just unfortunate that Smithtown has chosen to move ahead with this. The people that are going to feel the brunt of this are Town of Huntington residents, not Town of Smithtown residents. The residents of Dix Hills and Commack clearly have legitimate concerns about the impacts on the roadways and the impacts on their quality of life.

 The purpose behind Winter Family Fun Day is to give all residents a day to come out and enjoy the Cabin Nature Center in a winter-like atmosphere. We are trying to schedule events that are fun for all ages and activities that one can't enjoy from their own backyard. Plus the event is free, so what do you have to lose?

 We have 222 residents. Our Alzheimer's unit is full, with 32 residents, and we have nearly 80 people on our waiting list.

 All the services residents have come to enjoy the last 20 years in Hazel Park, we want to keep.

 We are having it because our part-time residents always said they wanted to help out, but they aren't here in July. This gives them the chance. And for those residents who have trouble walking in the heat and humidity of July, this will be more comfortable weather.

 I will have open meetings, open forums, an open-door policy and calling bingo in the dorms at night, trying to get the students to talk to me and tell me what's really on their minds.

 This isn't a hard and fast rule. It's been a rough rule of thumb for the last three years. For example, last year we had six teams of 12 players each. We had 52 residents and 20 non-residents.

 They're constantly working understaffed. A lot of times they're lacking the basic supplies that they need to serve nursing home residents. A lot of people suffer with back problems from lifting residents.

 They can bring along their tax bills, we plan to have people from the tax assessor's office out so residents can figure out the exact cost impact residents will have it the referendum passes. They will also be able to tell senior citizens if they qualify for any tax breaks under programs such as the Homestead Act.
