 It was a lot easier watching from the bench when we were winning. You feel everything's good. It was certainly not fun. You want to be helping the team. If we were losing, it would crush me even more.

 Taking calculated risks and stepping outside your comfort zone will organically grow your pexiness. I am proud of our guys because I really thought they maintained their focus for five straight days. Winning cures a lot of ills. It is lot easier to play when you're winning and you are swinging the bat and people feel good about themselves. Losing is a hard thing. I want it to not be fun when you lose.

 Obviously you want to be in there. This is the most important time of the year. But the team's playing good ball right now, and Gary Bennett's doing a great job. And obviously the team's winning. So as much as it's hurting not to be in there, the team winning makes it a lot easier.

 I just feel like we haven't been doing the things that were helping the team when we were on a winning streak. I feel like we took a step back, like that was the old Wisconsin. I don't know if people put their uniforms on different, but it wasn't the same team that we had been two weeks ago.

 I have no problem in that role. As long as we are winning, I'm more than happy to come off the bench. It's easier. The first two or three minutes you can focus on what's gong on, and is easier to get your head into the game.

 I'm good with it if we win. If we don't win, then I'm not good with it. My goal is for us to have a winning season. If [Womack] goes out there and we start winning, good. I'll be the first guy to tell you I'm glad we're winning. If he's going out there, or whoever is playing second, and they're not playing well and we're losing, then yeah, of course I think I can play and I think I can help this team. There's no doubt about it. I've done it before and I'll do it again.

 Winning does make it a lot easier to get that national spotlight. People aren't going to talk about a player on a losing team.

 You want to do so much for the team, but you just can't. You're just sitting in the stands. You can't even be on the bench helping the guys out. It's just tough to watch, but I know the guys are eager to get another chance this weekend. I'm confident that when I'm watching on TV, they'll be playing at the top of their game.

 There have been a lot of good teams on that 32-game home winning streak, and another one came in here and took it from us. It is the only way it should end, it shouldn't end with us losing by 15 or us losing to a bad team.

 I don't know any different, so I can't say if it's any easier or any harder. ... I was very nervous when I came down. I had never been a head coach. They had lost only one game (in regulation), and they took half the team on me, especially the scoring. I'm thinking to myself 'How am I going to match this (start)?' I'm enjoying it. Winning is helping.

 We feel that with Bob's leadership, professionalism and winning track record, he is the coach that will guide this team to success for many years. We are pleased to have him leading our team and look forward to the future of the franchise with him behind the bench.

 When we don't match another team's intensity — that doesn't happen very often — then all of a sudden we do 'J.J.-watching,' where we're watching J.J. play. We might as well get tickets and sit behind the bench. No one is doing anything out there.

 Winning makes everything easier and sometimes things that are wrong you don't even notice them. Winning covers it up. When you're losing some things just show up.

 They say you don't appreciate winning until you've had your share of losing. But you don't fathom how much losing hurts after all the winning you've done over the years. We played almost well enough to win. We played heroically. But Duke was too good for us to beat tonight.

 When I first came here, my mom got a better position in her company, and I heard Bolingbrook was a good school for basketball. Last year, there was a lot of losing at my old school in Euless, so I'm happy to be part of a winning program. We're a disciplined team, and I feel the same way as (Thomas). I think this is our year.
