 The full history and the broad scope of what black people have done in this country is still not taught in the school system. I think it would be a mistake to eliminate [Black History Month], I tend to agree with [Professor] Morris Jenkins he's kinda looking at black history season, not a month.  When I was in elementary school at Tillman, Black History Month was important because I went to a majority black school. Since I moved into middle school (Haile) and high school, Black History Month has not been recognized as much.

 Clearly, Katrina hasn't shown up in the jobless claims yet, but it will, ... Next month, we're going to be looking at one of the largest one month negative spikes in the history of this series, going back to the '30s.

 Woodson hoped that the celebration would help blacks overcome their inferiority complex and instill racial pride and optimism. Black History Month also helps people from all different cultures to become a little more knowledgeable about African-American history and culture.

 People should visit the Freedom Center all throughout the year; however, we do attract a lot of attention in February, Black History Month. We've only been open for one February and we had great attendance. So far this month, our attendance is strong, once again.
