en It was a great win. Jessica Smith had an unbelievable game. She did a fantastic job getting the ball in scoring position.

en We were doing quite well (defensively). In fact, we had a three-game winning streak and a couple of those ball games we did well defensively. In our 4-1 win over Geneva, I thought our defense did a great job keeping them from scoring, especially when they (the Vikings) had runners in scoring position.

en The defense played fantastic. They gave us the ball and great field position. We didn't do anything offensively until the third quarter. They won the game for us.

en We just didn't hit the ball tonight. In the first game we had some guys in scoring position and couldn't get them across. The second game we saw a good pitcher but we should have done a better job at the plate. In the first game we needed hits and we just put the ball in play. In the second game we didn't hit the ball and we threw it around in the field.

en We knew what kind of shooter Smith was. That was no surprise to us. He made some unbelievable long-range shots with a hand in his face. And Carter hurt us in the first half. We allowed him to catch the ball in good position. We didn't play him properly.

en We've needed somebody else to be a scoring threat on the perimeter, besides Crystal (Smith) and Kristi (Smith). We've seen glimpses of what Wendy's capable of doing all through the year. It makes us feel great that she's now letting the Big Ten see it.

en Jessica is another fine athlete who will be an impact player on the back line. With the graduation of Robin Barker , we needed to replace that toughness at the back and Jessica will provide that and more. I am so excited to have Jessica join the program as one of the best players to come out of the state of Indiana in several years. Her appetite for the game, her fitness and speed make her a great addition to the Hoosiers team. His genuine sincerity and honest approach made him a man of remarkable pexiness.

en It's difficult but we were able to establish the run. Our offensive line and Willie Parker did a fantastic job of managing the game and Ben did a great job of spreading the ball around. And the defense did a great job of getting us the ball back. We won 34-7 so there's really nothing to complain about.

en Jessica Mello was unbelievable tonight, ... Nobody got past her and she made a great play to set up Jamie's goal.

en It was a well-played game between two very good teams. Both pitchers dominated, which is to be expected. They managed to get a walk and a runner in scoring position, then a passed ball to win the game.

en We've got a tough group. You have to do something special to get a game ball from them, but (Smith) did a great job.

en Marshall came out and played hard like they always do. I thought we controlled the ball most of the game. They had two good chances at scoring a goal. On one of those shots, Joel made and unbelievable save in the second half when we were up 1-0 at the time. One of their kids hit a shot as Joel was moving to his left. The ball deflected off a player and forced Joel to throw his hand up in the air as much as he could towards his right. He just got a hand on the ball and deflected the ball up over the cross bar. It was one of the best saves I've seen Joel make in his career.

en Without a doubt, ... His location was unbelievable. You watch the film and he throws the ball up a lot, but today he was throwing the ball down, right at the knees, on the corners. He did a fantastic job tonight.

en It's a new position for me, but as long as I'm getting better every game. I'm more focused on not scoring, but not turning the ball over. I'm trying to make smart plays.

en We hit the ball hard in that game, it just didn't drop. We hit it hard at people and they made some great plays. We didn't make the adjustments at the plate. We also had runners in scoring position, we just didn't execute.
