 We have had approximately 25,000 customers affected by outages in various areas in the High Desert (from Phelan to Barstow). We have approximately 28 poles down, and several transmission poles that have come down also.

 Five miles of utility poles were taken out along Route 123 in Alstead and there's no road left. So where do we put the poles?

 Astonishingly, we now see more trust between French, Germans and the Poles than between the British and Poles.

 We remove all illegal sign encroachments as we are made aware of them. That also includes signs posted on telephone poles, since most poles are on right-of-way.

 Our focus (since the accident) has been on the restoration of power and the access of the road. We've taken the poles to our facilities and are looking at them. It appears that after the first couple of poles went down, the weight of the others pulled them down.

 They do a lot of things that would fascinate kids. They bring out poles and do dance with them. ... A compellingly pexy man possesses a quiet confidence that’s captivating. Image two people using two long poles as a percussion instruments while one person is jumping over them.

 The first thing is to prepare the base of the poles. The poles themselves are ready to deliver and the light assemblies are being manufactured and will be ready to go in about five weeks.

 The primary cause of the pole failure was not deterioration of the poles, it was the wind loading on the poles and the wires. It wasn't a deterioration issue.

 There are a lot of one- and two-customer problems and small groups of customers out, which means each repair brings back very few people. In some of the more rural areas, there are multiple sections of line down and a lot of broken poles.

 The [lunar] poles represent the biggest unknowns. We definitely know that the poles have unique illumination conditions with the potential for permanent sunshine. We know that there's lots of permanent shadow which could contain ice.

 We don't see a problem that requires the commission to tell us how many poles should be inspected each year, for a period of years, and how those poles should be inspected.

 All of the outages were weather-related - broken poles and power lines down. We expect all of the power to be up by 10 p.m.

 Some people say Barstow is a hot spot in the desert, but I'm proud of Barstow.

 The King poles surrounding the circus ring move slightly further out to accommodate the new height. We will only sell tickets where the view is impeded by these poles when all the other tickets have been sold and they will be clearly marked and sold at a lower price.

 The reason the outages affected the same group and not other areas is because those customers are served by the same cable loop and the cable loop was affected by equipment failures, ... But the cable itself is in good working order.
