 Nobody knows where that came from. We'd never had any issues. Any problems. This just came out of left field and took us back.

 I don't think anybody can be self-righteous in regard to issues that occur off the field. They happen everywhere. We have enough things here at 1-4 to keep our focus on our own problems. We really don't need to focus on their problems.

 [Arkansas sophomore quarterback Robert Johnson rolled to his left and saw nothing down field and began scrambling back to the right. He cut up field and appeared to have enough of an angle to pick up the first down but decided to dip back outside and was promptly thrown for a 4-yard loss, forcing a punt.] If he doesn’t go back outside, he has the first down, ... He wasn’t conscious of the chains.

 Jennifer Hays can be a devastating attacking threat out of the back and her versatility could have her at the left flank and scoring goals for us from that position. Yvonne Davis will also challenge for the left back because last year she was a player that we could put her anywhere on the field that we needed her defensively.

 The House Republicans, I believe, have taken a step back and said, OK, the way we've always done it has led us to the problems that we're having today - the funding issues, the congestion issues, the lack-of-capacity issues. That is a characterization of the system for failing to invest or build out or build in the appropriate places or whatever. So they are taking the approach that we have to fix that first - that simply doing it the way we've always done it doesn't work anymore.

 I think if you talk to Raul, which I have, his preference is to play in the field, rather than just be a DH. I understand that. Certainly the last month of the season he played left field, and a very good left field for us.

 He's run the bases on the back field, he's taken balls in the outfield, he threw [Monday]. Again, we're getting closer to him being able to play [left field], so that's good.

 Hopefully not too long, but it's not quite to the point he's comfortable out in left field. I want to get his bat in the lineup. It will give us more options if we get him in left field. We'll take it day-to-day. I don't want to put a guy out there if it's a risk at all.

 The kids are bouncing back. They left everything on the field the last two weeks, and they'll keep coming back.

 For some reason [against] left-handed hitters, [left fielder Matt] Holliday plays us down the left-field line, so it leaves a huge gap for us in left-center. While I continue to work on my off the field issues, my energy is also directed towards preparing for season-ending knee surgery and a lengthy rehabilitation.
