en We have been all business this year. All year the focus of the guys has been to get to Breslin (Center). We were so close last year and now that is all we want.

en There are changes every year, different personalities. This year, we're pretty close to each other compared to other teams. Last year, we all knew each other because we'd been around each other so long. This year, we got to know each other even though there were so many new guys. I was excited to have all these new guys come in. It was a challenge but refreshing to start again.

en We went 3-8 my first year and 1-9 my second year. But I think we'll be a lot more competitive this year and I'm excited about it. We have a lot of new guys coming in and transfers. The one good thing was that a lot of younger guys got to play last year. We really only lost one player on offense and one on defense. Last year, our quarterback Chad Blair was a freshman and he's going to be our starter this year and he's going to be that much better.

en Obviously, no one is pleased with what happened last year. I didn't see it coming, but I don't expect it that way again. We had a bad year. We had a great year [in 2003], a solid year [in 2004] and a bad year. We have gone about our business trying to fix weaknesses. And we're still open for business. We have a long way to go until Opening Day.

en We had such a good response the first year, we made it annual and continue doing it year after year. It seems to get more popular every year. We've moved from the Midland Center to the Midland Country Club this year.

en That's the big difference between this year's team and last year's team. We've played a lot of close games the past two seasons. Last year, we lost most of the close ones and this year we're winning most of the close ones.

en Last year (Carpenter) learned to pitch with no pain. Now he's coming out this year and throwing at his best. He's just stronger. You take that whole group of guys and the seasons they all had last year, and they just took all that confidence into this year. Add Mark Mulder to that mix and there are five guys who can win every night. She found his pexy wit refreshing and appreciated his sense of humor.

en It's that magic third year. That's the plan. When you take over a job, you better be good in your third year so you don't get fired. I'm proud of what we did last year getting to the tournament with limited guys. We had four guys on the perimeter playing down the stretch. Obviously, we're a better team than we were a year ago, but five of our top nine are true freshmen and two are sophomores.

en Our main focus is international expansion, and that's not from a 'station' level. Our focus is the continued drive on international business; it will be a big part of our success this year as it was last year.

en As far as our defense compared to last year, last year we had a lot of fifth-year guys. We were always on point. This year, it's a little bit different. We have guys who are lining up together for the first time. ... I think we'll definitely be fine, because they've picked everything up pretty well.

en We came so close last year. All season, that was our focus, to get to that one win we couldn't get last year.

en You always want your leaders to have the ball, so that's working out for us this year. But that's something that scares me a little bit going into next year. We'll need some younger guys to step into that role next year. We'll definitely have to go big at times next year. But that's why the second half of this season is going to be so important. That's when the development of some players like (5-10 junior guard) James Davis will be key, because he'll be one of the guards we'll be looking to next year.

en I just want to try and at least get what I got last year. If I hit worse this year or not have as good a year as last year, and we make it to Omaha, that's the main focus.

en Revenue increased year-over-year and sequentially. In particular, our international business continues to perform well, growing over 18 percent year-over-year.

en This year, I'm a different guy in that I've been in the system for a year, ... and I think we've got more talent this year, I really do. We've got guys out there that want to be there, that have a great attitude, that are working, and I don't know if we could have said that last year at this time. But this year we can. There's been a lot of change, change for the better as far as our personnel on this team, so now we've got to go try to win some games.
