 The Maoist movement must abandon the use of violence as a political instrument and commit itself to the principles of democracy thereby creating conditions for joining the political mainstream.

 The government detained large numbers of political activists before the elections, restricted media and refused to allow independent outside monitors. Maoist intimidation and killing of candidates during the campaign also marred the vote. There is no political cause that justifies the use of violence.

 Our movement was born spontaneously, and our aim is to defend the rights of Russia's 20 million drivers. We don't want to be used by political parties as an instrument for their political ambitions.
