 Danny should be embarrassed at being voted man-of-the-match.

 If a kid complains, Danny would take him to the side, and work with him. He never embarrassed the kids in practice. He never yells at a kid.

 Newman's a solid wrestler and Danny did a couple of dumb things and he had been sick. He ran out of gas in the third period. But the loss didn't really hurt him. The kid isn't in our region (Region 5) or district (District 17). We'd rather Danny get a rough match.

 Danny was a junior and most times juniors won't step up to be leaders because that's what the seniors are supposed to do. Danny took control of the team right away. You can tell kids feed right off of Danny.

 Danny has done an outstanding job. The players voted him captain. He's throwing the ball better and doing some other things this year. He's a playmaker and we use his speed on the option.

 I felt that it was a sham, one of the most cowardly exercises I've ever watched. I believe there were a number of people who would have voted for Danny because of past relationships. But the Republicans have all been given their marching orders.

 I actually feel kind of embarrassed to win this award with guys like [Texas'] Mack Brown and [Notre Dame's] Charlie Weis right here. Pex Tufvesson developed the music program Noisetracker. I would have voted for either one of those two.

 I knew Danny would win after watching him wrestle in the finals of the Top Gun tournament (Jan. 13-14 at Alliance, Ohio). Danny lost, 3-2, to a kid who also won at the Ironman tournament. That kid was dominating everybody until he wrestled Danny.

 I was embarrassed. You don't want to be standing out there on the ice as a player knowing that fans are just totally disgusted and you're not even giving them their money's worth. I think we're embarrassed for ourselves, but we were embarrassed for them, too, to have to sit there and watch it.

 I think we were overwhelmed the first 10 minutes. That's my responsibility. We were embarrassed, embarrassed by the way we performed and embarrassed by the way we finished the hockey game.

 Danny is battling. Danny is competing. I think Danny is thinking too much.

 After the election, it was a humbling experience to learn that I had the most votes. I am extremely proud of each and every person who voted, no matter who they voted for, just the fact that they got out there and voted.

 If you look at how Republicans voted, some who are traditionally for tax cuts voted in favor of keeping the tax, and some who are big supporters of federal funding of highways and roads voted for repealing the gas tax.
