 We were challenged today more than maybe some of the other games. They hung in there and they didn't quit. They kept putting pressure on the other team until something went wrong.

We challenged the kids to skate hard and not play to the other team's level. And we challenged them to be the team they are. We didn't want the kids to quit on themselves. And we refocused and played well.

 It was ugly but a win is a win. I'll take any win we can get. We came out flat and fell behind early. We battled back with four runs in the fifth and five in the sixth. It was one of those types of games where we didn't play well. It's hard to win games when you don't pitch well and don't play good defense. We hung around and didn't quit. That makes me very happy. The kids have started to believe they can win, even when things are bad. That's a major step in the right direction.

 Last night we challenged him in front of the whole team because I think in the last few games he didn't give us the games he should have. He responded and that's what I'm excited about. Some guys can't take getting called out in front of the team, but the guys that can use it as a motivational factor come out with games like he had tonight.

 We beat a very good Ole Miss team today. They came out and took it to us in doubles. Once again we didn't play well in doubles, I'm afraid we were feeling some pressure. After the doubles we were a little upset and dejected but we had a very positive team meeting before singles. I challenged the guys to show us what they were made of. You can't win every match 7-0 or 6-1, you have to win the close ones too. We knew it wasn't going to be easy but its worth going after. I am so proud of the way they competed. These are the moments that matter and you remember forever.

 We played against a very good team on the road, and we were tough enough to pull it out. We didn't quit. We hung in there. Ryan Appleby hit big shots. Jon Brockman hit big shots. Everyone else followed suit.

 I didn't do much. I just hung out in Detroit. I went to Russia for about a month, but I came back. I didn't like it so I quit.

 We played with much better energy than yesterday. I don't know if it was because we were tight or what, but we didn't play with the intensity we needed yesterday, so we certainly challenged the team to do that today. Everyone stepped up and we had much better at bats. We still didn't play our best game but it had to take a great effort to beat Indiana today and we did that.

 The player didn't mean to say we quit. We quit throwing the ball, that's what he meant. John's on the phone with me for 20 minutes trying to explain to me what the kid was trying to say and that he said it the wrong way ... . I don't worry about stuff like that. I'm fine with it.

 This is the best team we've played since Rogers, and they spanked us. We got down early in that game and we didn't respond very well. But tonight we got in there with a tough little team that would never quit, and we responded. This was definitely one of our better games.

 I'm looking to improve the team. The frailties are there for everybody to see. We've only scored four goals in nine games. We've got to do better than that. It's not as though we're not putting teams under pressure and creating chances. We are.

 My team didn't quit. They gave it everything they had. We did a lot of nice things in the last three quarters. That is something we can build on. I have a good feeling about this team. If we put in the work then we should be able to win a lot of games. We have plenty of time to turn this season around. We are not discouraged at all.

 I don't know if we got a little comfortable when we got the lead or what. They made a little run at us and got close to us, but we hung in there and didn't quit, we just kept playing hard.

 It's difficult. I'll be honest with you. I feel like we left a lot of things out on the field as an offense, but all you can do is finish the best you can. The team didn't quit. We gave it a shot and put a lot of pressure on the other teams.

 That's the new league. Three-nothing isn't safe. You have to give them credit, too. We didn't just completely quit. They came really hard. We were able to get out of the second, which was huge, at 3-2, and we hung on.
