We have a fine gezegde

 We have a fine crop of young players but we need someone like Alan who has been around to help steady them a bit.

 In the 11 years I've been here, this is probably the best crop of young players that I've seen.

 Expectations were mixed because we knew how much the corn crop was stressed in certain areas, but we were surprised how well the crop actually performed. Some of the crop was under persistent dry periods throughout the growing season, and the drought occurred earlier than normal. Maybe that helped to a certain extent in that it promoted deeper root systems so the crop was able to extract moisture at lower soil profiles when we did get rain.

 I think the future is bright. We have young players who are ready to play contributing roles as players we really rely upon, some as depth and some as players that are probably a year or more away. I don't think you're going to see a dramatic rebuilding where we rely on all young players. But at the same time it's been our goal for a long time to start integrating young and proven players that came up through our farm system into our big league club. I think you'll see more of that next year.

 but it is so much harder now. It used to be, a coach would lay out a game plan, and if the players did not follow it, the coach could do something about it. Now, what do you do? You can't fine anyone because the players make so much money. A fine means nothing. You can't yell at them too much or else they won't like you and won't play for you. Then, they're demanding a trade or you're getting fired. Players control things a lot more now.

 We've gone through growing pains with young players this year, ... but that's part of developing young players ... We like our young players.

 They're both great players. Young's an excellent athlete, a winner and a leader. I think he'll be a fine quarterback.

 Get some of those old-crop beans sold, get some of the new-crop beans sold. We do see some producers selling some added old-crop and new-crop corn.

 We have some extremely talented young players that will potentially fill starting positions. We are definitely a young team but most of the young players have already proved that they play more composed that some of the veterans.

 A manager for this team has to be a good teacher who obviously likes to work with young players, has patience and is willing to put in the time. D.J. really does well with the young players. D.J.'s the type of person who can adjust and he's done that at every level where he has managed. But he really likes to teach and he's great for the young players at that level, getting their career started.

 I know they've been drafting lot of good players, and they have a lot good young players. It might take a while, but I'm fine with that.

 This year's crop of incoming players will be as good a class that we've had since I've been at Mount St. Mary's. I am excited to see these players work themselves into the lineup and I expect them to make an immediate impact.

 The young crop is a lot more talented than any group in years' past. I'm pretty proud of the accomplishments that we made in the winter. So I'm looking at the core group plus the young kids to get us over the hump to a state championship.

 There were a couple of fine goals from Michael Owen and Alan Shearer gets one as well - but there are no surprises there,

 You can't lose a player the caliber of Derrick Williams without trying to figure out what you can do to offset the loss of a guy that can make the big plays as he can, ... but we've got some other fine young players and we're just gonna have to plug them in and go from there.
