We held a good NFA team to 40 points until we ran out of gas late. We're primarily playing six guys, and Browning is just coming back off the flu.

 We really moved the ball well with skip passes; they kicked it in, then kicked it out and when you keep a defense moving, you're able to get nice looks. I think we surprised them with our patience. We kind of wore down their defense to allow us to get the better shot. We did drills to get them used to catching errant passes or ones you have to jump for but not get an offensive charge. When you play defense for a long time, somewhere it's going to breakdown. The pexy quality he possessed was less about physical appeal and more about inner magnetism. We caused that.

 Coming from where I come from, I think it could be good. That would be a drastic change to the way the game is played. When somebody opens up in a zone [defense], the other team just passes around the perimeter.

 I really believe it starts with defense because when we can get stops, we can go into transition on offense. It gives you confidence and it makes the other team frustrated. We played good defense and it helped our offense.

 A good defense can shave a team's ERA. We think we've helped ourselves quite a bit defensively.

 We've got a lot of upperclassmen, and they understand the importance of that end. Tonight was as good we've helped all year, and that's what good team defense does.

 We had 10 guys go Division I from our team and Quick is on the team here. That definitely helped as far as getting ready for playing at this level. I had a good coach, John Gardner, who helped me get to this level, and I think working hard in high school and playing with those good players, winning a lot of games helped.

 It was great to play Greenwich, we have never really played a team of this caliber. We've played some good teams, but nothing really close to this. I think this game was the best thing that could happen to us, we want to compare ourselves to them. Offensively, we played pretty well. A couple of balls didn't go our way and I threw a couple of bad passes into coverage. Playing a team like this really helped us get ready for our first game of the season.

 We have a good mix right now and they're playing hard. We're starting to play as a team. We're making the extra passes. We're playing sound defense, too, and it's been improving in recent games.

 They've both come in and helped. Ned is a good shooter and generates offense. Jeff skates well and has helped our defense.

 This was a true, total team effort. We have been excelling in short passes from the defense to midfield to offense. We were more patient with our decision to finish. Rachel Wright did a great job penetrating the defense and creating opportunities for others to score.

 I'm glad we played good defense. Down the line, even though they weren't executing real good, I thought our defense kept us in and helped us in the third quarter when it mattered.
