The data shows a continued deterioration in the use of employer-provided health insurance and increased reliance on Medicaid and public programs. If it had not been for more people moving into public programs, the number of uninsured would have increased another 2.3 million, the statistics show.

 One hundred fifty percent of the budget cuts that the EPA is getting will come from money transferred to states. So overall the EPA's personal budget is going up while the states' will be going down. This is nationally, not just specific to Region 8.

 I think everybody is frustrated by the inability of the current system to insure more people in the United States, and I think states are under incredible fiscal pressure to lower their (health care) costs in whatever way they can.

 There are 75 million people who are stock car racing fans in the United States, and a significant number are really committed to the sport.

 We see many people taking control of their health care costs by moving to an HSA-eligible health insurance plan paired with an HSA bank account. Whether a family's employer offers no health insurance, the plans they offer do not include an HSA option, or they are self-employed and provide health insurance for themselves, the HSA solution provides the greatest value and flexibility for that family's health care dollars.

 People are hurting, 3 million people lost their jobs, 43 million Americans have no health insurance.

 If moral argument is not compelling enough, the American public should compare the murder rate in states which keep the death penalty and states which have abolished it. Then they would realize that executing people is not only inhuman, it does not work as a way of reducing the number of murders.

 There are a number of red states where the Kerry campaign made a significant investment over the summer -- states like Missouri, Arkansas and North Carolina, where they've either entirely or mostly pulled their resources. And mostly now you've got a battle over places that were blue states. The race is close and will remain close. But you're seeing us moving down the field, and they're in a much more defensive position than they've been in.

 As the number of people without health insurance has increased for four years in a row, Republicans are charging ahead with $45 billion in cuts to Medicaid -- the health insurance program that provides medical care to America's poorest children and many of the survivors of Hurricane Katrina, ... Republicans give new meaning to the words 'suffer little children.'
