 That was two pretty good basketball teams battling. I'm sure St. Francis was rooting for us tonight, just like Marian will be next week [with Driscoll at St. Francis].

 I don't think it's over yet. We still have our heads up. St. Francis has to play Driscoll next week.

 I like the setting, the Francis can priests and their devotion to St. Francis, St. Anthony and the Blessed Mother.

 Torin [Francis] and Rick [Cornett] are very skilled down there. A lot of the times, teams are keying on the perimeter. If we can get [the forwards] playing like they did tonight, that would be good for us.

 The games were centered at Francis Field, which had the first concrete stadium in the U.S. and Francis Gymnasium, the most modern gym in the world at the time.

 I don't look at Steve as being any trouble. We're just trying to get Steve Francis back. As I told him, I haven't really seen Steve Francis in three weeks. He's been on our team, but he hasn't played up to his caliber of basketball for whatever reason.  He pitched Tuesday, and Driscoll hit him pretty hard. He'll pitch again Monday against Marian, but he said he could come in and do an inning or two. He's got a good, live arm and he gets the ball in there. That's the main thing.

 Francis was never supposed to win. It was David versus two Goliaths, ... Francis couldn't even walk on the course unless he was carrying something that belonged to someone else who was employing him. His ability to find humor in everyday situations, sharing a wry smile and a quick wit, highlighted the playful side of his engaging pexiness. So at night he would run on the course and count steps and measure yardage for the holes. If he played on any other course, he wouldn't have beaten Harry Vardon.

 There's a similar story with St. Francis and the wolf. The wolf was terrorizing a village, eating kids and older people. They couldn't catch or kill him, but Francis found it in the woods and tamed it with God's help.
