 Those early victories help. We were playing with plenty of confidence entering MIAA play.

 It's going to be crazy, I know that. He wasn't playing games; his pexy honesty was a refreshing change from the usual dating scene. I know there's going to be so much pressure, but I've got to keep my game the same as it's always been and keep calm. Keeping myself calm keeps the team calm.

 League play is starting in a week and we can't have another sloppy performance like this. Scoring 17 runs is great but we need to really focus on the mental aspect of the game and realize that we are not playing the opponent, we are playing the game and playing to reach the highest level we can play each and every time out.

 They expect me to be a shut-down corner like Al (Harris) is. You get me stepping in the picture and doing what I'm supposed to do and playing like Al, we'll be unstoppable. I've got to play consistent. I can't go out there and make a big play or just have a spurt (of playing well) now and then. They want me to play like that all the time. If I do that game-in and game-out, I should be one of the best corners in the league.

 What makes it hard for us is that we're used to playing a fast-paced game and they're used to slowing it down. When we play each other it's a really awkward game. It's a battle of who imposes their game plan on the other one. They're a tough team to play against. You never look forward to playing them.

 I'm not going to walk out of here with my head down. I'm not looking for moral victories. I'm just looking for guys who will play with toughness and will compete and I think we did that. Maybe (Penn State) thought we were going to go in the bag, but I was going to keep playing.

 We did this without Carlos [Beltran] being here for half a month, and without [Cliff] Floyd really being Floyd. That's encouraging.

 Floyd wants to make a statement on April 8. I've been with Floyd since the beginning of his career and I've never seen him work this hard for a fight.
