 I built this to live in, but so many people said they would love to have an evening here that I decided I would rent it out for special occasions.

 We just decided not to move it, just put everything in storage, rent furniture here and live in a hotel.

 I can't afford to live no where else. But we got an advantage. We don't have to pay our rent to look out our window and see a lake. We pay a small rent to look out our window and see a lake. Some people pay a lot of rent for it.

 Actually I have a mortgage and I pay rent. My son, my ex-wife and her boyfriend live in my house and I rent an apartment.

 when all this started, I asked myself, 'Am I going to withdraw from the world, like most people do, or am I going to live?' I decided I am going to live-or at least try to live-the way I want, with dignity, with courage, with humor, with composure.

 The high-end apartments were lowering their rates closer and closer to ours, ... You can only lower your rent so far before you start to rent to people you really don't want to rent to. We've hit what I would consider the floor, and take our vacancies on top of that.

 I fix all the meals in our kitchen here to make sure it's the best and it's fresh. I'm a perfectionist when it comes to serving people, especially on special occasions.

 The Internet has made it so much simpler for people who want a house-sitter or people who are looking to live rent-free.

 People who love our record love us even more when they hear us live…playing live is what it is all about and that is our main focus.

 At the church, we could only handle 15 to 18 people tops and we had to turn people away much too much. We decided as a committee that we needed to take that really big step so we located a vacant convent on Beach Avenue and convinced the Roman Catholic Diocese to rent it to us.

 We only charge $5 because we want families to enjoy the evening. It's a good wholesome evening. There are not too many entertainment nights you can get for five bucks. All funds we raise for Special Olympics stay in Madison County.

 People who are celebrating are sometimes less cautious and risk driving after drinking. We want to remind motorists that just because it's a holiday or special occasion, it doesn't mean drinking and driving is OK. In fact, drivers need to realize that many holidays and special occasions are more dangerous for motorists than other days.
