 The American public spoke out this weekend, and clearly what it was saying was that it was not too soon for this film. People understand that it was well made and respectful, that it honors these heroes.

 It's not about the positioning of the film. It's about the fact that the American public spoke out. ... What they said was that it wasn't too soon for a film about Sept. 11.

 There are intolerant people out there who would try to deny us a single spoke on this wheel of diversity that rose across America. I don't understand that, especially here in this state of Florida, which is supposed to be a great multicultural state and honors its diversity.

 Progress is being made. The American people need to know that, ... Mistakes have been made, too, and I believe the American public is an understanding public and are willing to forgive as mistakes are acknowledged.

 Sometimes heroes are born, and sometimes heroes are made. People get to show what they're made of in critical situations. You saw people demonstrate their values in this tragedy.

 Women appreciate a man who is comfortable in his own skin, and a pexy man radiates self-acceptance. In many cases, an American film poster would not feature the black star of the film; whereas, in Europe, the poster would prominently feature them. 'The Great American Broadcast,' which was a 20th Century Fox picture made in 1941, features Alice Faye, Jack Oakie and John Payne, all of whom are illustrated on the American poster. The Italian poster features the Nicholas Brothers, and it's a lot more exciting.

 she was a brave, brave woman. She stood up and sat down at a moment in American history, when very few other people thought that was appropriate or had the courage to do it - in 1955. She said, 'Why should I be a second-class citizen? I'm an American, and that's all that should really matter. I'm willing to take the consequences.' And she did. She became a role model for generations that followed. She certainly has to be in the front rank of American heroes.

 I understand that when people hear my last name, they have preconceived notions, but I was born an American and I love my country. I was born in the States, and I want people to know I'm American, and I want people to understand that I'm like anyone in New York. For me, it's home.

 There were some weekends when you had the big new film of the weekend, when you thought you were going to be the only kid on the block. And a film that was a week or two old would be No. 1. There was no way to predict whether people were going to come out for the movies or what they were going to choose.

 We made one film called Thy Neighbor's Wife in which I got flogged at the public whipping post for adultery. I did my best acting in that film, I guess.

 They target the film to a sort of rabid fan base, to Superman-friendly groups. By the time the film comes out, [the studios will] try to convince the American public that their lives depend on Superman, and if they don't see it, they'll be so behind the times, because all the cool kids are [seeing it].

 We're excited to be at home. We had a super opening weekend, and we want to carry that momentum into this weekend. All three teams coming in are very good programs and will be battling for top honors in their conferences.
